Job Description

Digital Appraisals Specialist – The Modern House & Inigo 

Purpose 

Your job is to help us win more business by implementing a delightful, digital onboarding process for sellers. Today, we aren’t able to list a home without appraising it in person. We’d like to see if we can change that! The aim is to understand a seller’s home, pitch the business and craft their listing without having to visit their property in person. The role will sit in our Appraisals team, working closely with our Product team. The role will work across both The Modern House & Inigo. 

Responsibilities 

The Digital Appraisals Specialist’s core responsibilities are to: 

  • Design and develop a digital onboarding process for sellers 

  • Win new business (residential property for sale across the UK) through this digital process, which we suspect will particularly suit new builds 

  • Further grow a new build department, with a focus on sustainable homes 

  • Carry out in-person appraisals when needed 

  • Research and write up sales particulars 

  • Ensure all marketing material is compliant 

  • Keep good records to maintain our database of design-led homes 

  • Support and collaborate with other team members to best serve clients 

Performance indicators 

The sorts of metrics we’d like to look at: 

  • % of Appraisal Requests which convert to Instructions 

  • Time between Appraisal Request and Appraisal 

  • Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) 

Knowledge & skills 

Essential 

  • Strong commercial acumen 

  • Motivated by commercial targets 

  • A ‘client first’ mentality 

  • Experience managing client relationships 

  • A ‘can do’ attitude 

  • Confident presentation skills 

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills 

  • Strong sales & negotiation skills 

  • A good eye for architecture and design 

Desirable 

  • Experience designing and implementing a digital service 

  • >5 years’ experience in a sales-driven organisation 

  • Good understanding of UK geography and regionality 

Team 

The Digital Appraisals Specialist reports into our Acting Head of Appraisals. 

The Digital Appraisals Specialist will also work closely with the Head of Client Operations and our Product team, including our Marketing & Product Director.
