The Opportunity

Enerplus is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our US Operations group.  As a member of this team, you will provide various data analysis reports to multiple stakeholders and have a working knowledge of the US financials.  

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be involved in various tasks around the company's operations and collaborate with our Canadian Financial reporting team regarding activity and results.    

   

What You Will Do

  • Assist with internal and external audits, including sample testing requested.  

  • Prepare monthly financial entries, including capital, revenue, and operating expense accruals. Cross-training will eventually allow complete insight into all finance transactions with other team members.  

  • Prepare and monitor account reconciliations for timely resolution.  

  • Perform data analysis for various ad hoc projects to research variances or provide data for others in the company.  

  • Gain an understanding of how other accounting teams impact the financials.  

  • Various projects as needed to determine the accuracy of financials. 

 

The Requirements

  • At least five years of accounting experience in operational accounting is preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related degree program is preferred 

  • Experience with audits and SOX compliance testing 

  • Oil and Gas experience is required 

  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data and pull data with analytic tools.
