- Closing: 11:59pm, 13th May 2019 BST
Job Description
Bethnal Green Ventures (BGV) is looking to hire a Communications and Events intern.
BGV is a leading early-stage ‘tech for good’ investor. We believe technology can radically change people’s lives for the better. Our mission is to help talented teams launch and scale ventures using technology to tackle major social and environmental problems, improving millions of people’s lives. Since 2012 we’ve backed over 110 ventures including Fairphone, DrDoctor, Open Utility, Overleaf, Andiamo, OurPath, Organise and many more.
Our internship programme will give you a chance to see how BGV works, to work on our external comms, assist in the expanding tech for good community, to get involved with the day to day running of our accelerator programme, and to work alongside our cohort of tech for good startups.
You will be responsible for:
The social media accounts and website for BGV and Tech for Good Global
Organising our events, including the BGV Demo Day; finding a venue, arranging catering, liaising with film crew, managing the invite list and the teams in the lead up to the event
Event management for our Tech For Good meetups; researching and sourcing speakers, organising venues, catering and managing attendees
Helping to run our accelerator programme; getting the space ready for workshops, organising lunches, coordinating speakers, hosting some of the sessions and making sure everyone knows what’s happening and when
Helping to manage our office space and responding to general enquiries
Person specification:
Shares our values and is excited by the tech for good startup scene
Good at getting stuff done
Willing to muck in with a variety of tasks
Enjoys working in a small highly energetic team
Self starter - get up and go mentality
Desire to learn all aspects of a comms and events role
What we can offer:
A 6-month full-time internship paid at London Living Wage with a broad range of experience of working in one of the leading accelerators in Europe.
The opportunity to build relationships with the tech for good community in London and beyond - be they impact investors, startups, policy makers or funders.
The opportunity to have a say in what and where you want to develop while gaining a broad overview of what goes on at Bethnal Green Ventures.
A fun place to work in London.
What we can’t offer you
We are a small team and we can’t promise you a job with BGV at the end. However, this internship is designed to give you exposure to all elements of our network, and we hope it will act as a stepping stone to working with one of our alumni startups, funders or investors.
We are committed to building a diverse community and strongly encourage applications from women, minorities and individuals with disabilities.
