Job Description

Fixed income is a crucial asset class for PRI’s global signatory base. One where implementing practices – incorporating ESG into decision making, analysis and stewardship is still lagging. There is a big demand for PRI to deliver tools and guidance to meet this need.

This high-profile position will contribute to and develop thought leadership, shaping research, analysis and guidance on all aspects of responsible investment in fixed income across the PRI.

Working as a senior member of the established Guidance team they will help inspire and encourage our signatories to start, improve and develop their incorporation of ESG issues into investment decisions. The successful candidate will be the ‘go to’ individual on fixed income within PRI.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Guidance in delivering against the team’s business plan and budget.

  • This opportunity is within the PRI’s Products & Practices team and will report to the Director of Guidance.

  • This role will include line management  to a small number of team members, supporting their development and managing their performance effectively to help the team fulfil their potential. This will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.

  • Product and service design

  • Alongside the appropriate Directors, build and improve the pipeline of PRI’s products for fixed income investors.

  • Engage signatories, be aware of their requirements and develop products to respond to identified needs.

  • Products and services delivery

  • Responsible for supporting the design & delivery of new (and existing) products to help PRI signatories fulfil their commitments to the six principles through their fixed income investment decisions and portfolios. Examples of current products include DDQs, introductory guides and case studies.

  • Build on PRI’s reputation for excellent practical guidance and tools.

  • Work across the organisation to help develop and improve insights into the fixed income market.

  • Ensure delivery against the team’s responsibilities within the Products and Practices group (and wider PRI) business plan.

  • Work within the Products and Practices team and with other teams across the organisation to develop and deliver programmes, guides, tools and events on RI.

  • Ensure delivery against the team’s responsibilities under the business plan and in line with budget, including working with and supporting other teams across PRI. 

Person Specification

  • Extensive knowledge of aspects of the fixed income market and the ability to develop and explain a vision around how responsible investment can be developed in this asset class.

  • Excellent research and analysis skills with the ability to formulate and development fixed income guidance  

  • Very good project management skills, (designing and delivering projects to tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities and acknowledging interdependencies) and managing and collaborating with relevant stakeholders

  • Well-developed people management skills (including providing feedback & challenge, coaching and developing individuals) and the ability to build and lead high performing hybrid teams

  • Excellent networking, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and productive relationships and demonstrate credibility at a senior level as a trusted partner in different circumstances (remote/in-person or internal/external) with a clear understanding of what drives people and how to achieve optimal outcomes
