Job Description

About LEASE:

The Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) provides free legal advice to leaseholders and park home owners in England and Wales. We're committed to empowering people to navigate their leasehold ownership through ensuring they have access to clear, accurate expert information.

There are an estimated 5 million leaseholders in England and Wales and many of them need help and support. We're the go-to source for free, impartial advice on leaseholds and each year 1.3 million people visit our website and 35,000 email or call us looking for help. As the leasehold sector grows we expect more people to need help and support.

About the role:

LEASE is embarking on an exciting digital transformation that will enable our expert legal advice to reach and help more people than ever before.

We will be launching our new website in January 2026, as the first step in transforming our content and how it’s created. As part of our digital team and working with our Senior Content Designer, you'll be a key part of this transformation, helping to shape our online presence and ensure our information is accessible, interactive, engaging, and truly user-centred.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Help millions of people: Our website reaches 1.3m people, by making our content much better you will directly help hundreds of thousands or millions of people who couldn't otherwise get the support they need.

Help shape LEASE's content evolution: Support the development of content strategy, workflows, and standards, driving a user-first approach across all digital channels, and actively contribute to the creation of high-quality, user-focused content.

Build a user-centred digital culture: Champion user-centred design practices and be an integral member of the broader digital team as it grows and develops.

LEASE is a small but growing organisation of ~40 people across a range of specialisms. You’ll be joining our digital and data team. As a small organisation everyone needs to be able to take on a mix of responsibilities. However, it also means we can be responsive and adaptive to new ideas, technology or sector changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Research leasehold topics and user insights to understand user needs.

  • Create high-quality, user-centred content.

    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and feedback, particularly working closely with our team of legal advisors to ensure content is accurate while remaining accessible and clear.

    • Use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to monitor content performance and make data-driven improvements.

    • Stay up to date with best practices in content design, GenAI and search optimisation, and accessibility.

Skills and experience:

Content & user-centred design

  • Experience developing accurate, clear and accessible content which meets user needs for a wide audience

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Familiarity with the Government Service Standard or equivalent

  • Experience creating content in a regulated environment where accuracy is extremely important (e.g. law, finance)

  • Experience using AI as part of the content development process
