iNaturalist is looking for a part-time Accounting Associate to help with basic accounting tasks.

We do this by engaging a global community of over a million people each month in nature exploration and citizen science on the iNaturalist website and mobile apps. iNaturalist is now the largest provider of recent biodiversity data for the majority of species on the planet. We have ambitious plans to grow our reach and impact.
About the Job
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to help with basic accounting functions, such as data entry into the accounting system and account reconciliations. The successful candidate may diversify their work if they demonstrate ability and interest. You will report to the Head of Administration. This is a part-time job: 10-19 hours per week. The wage is $25 per hour, non-negotiable.
About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have completed college-level coursework in accounting or similar field or have 2+ years experience in an accounting or similar role. A working knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel and/or Google Sheets) and some data entry experience are required. Most importantly, the candidate should be highly detail-oriented and able to accurately enter and process information and follow documented processes. Experience with NetSuite is a plus, but not required.
Being an active user of iNaturalist and/or having a keen interest in nature is a plus. So is having a good sense of humor.
Candidates must have a high school diploma. Candidates must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. Candidates must have the flexibility and communication skills to work and learn remotely and effectively use collaboration tools such as Slack.
