Job Description

 

The Advanced support role is to support the development of coaches leading towards the advanced qualification coaching level. This will include the support of coach developer courses and coaching courses at Foundation level plus assisting on the Advanced coach programme and encouraging a wider range of applicants especially from female and BAME candidates through the development of an ECB coach descriptor model and associated registration system.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Developing coaches from underrepresented areas of the game especially BAME and females.

  • Supporting the delivery of Foundation Coach Developer courses in conjunction with the Foundation support coach

  • Creating an ECB coach descriptor model and associated registration system – working with Foundation Lead and transition of the current ECB CA.

  • Supporting the delivery of FCP, ACP and ISCP.

  • Using your wider coaching network to provide opportunities for underrepresented groups to “shadow” other coaches and gain experience.

  • Working with county coach delivery partners and others especially form the non cricket network ie Religious groups, non-ECB league teams, local community groups.

  • Supporting the Foundation Lead with the creation of materials for the CA.

     

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Track record of developing coaches from all areas of the game and especially in the foundation phase from BAME backgrounds and females.

  • Good understanding of the Foundation coaching phase and courses.

  • Willingness and availability to work in the evenings and often at weekends to deliver programmes to coaches working in the recreational game.

  • A desire to develop people to be their best.

  • An excellent cricket and coaching network especially BAME, female and underrepresented community groups. Ie Street programmes, City Cup or ACE programmes.

  • A proven ability to tackle problems with a practical can-do attitude, work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humour, understanding the ever-changing sports environment.

  • ECB Level three minimum or equivalent coaching qualification

  • Coach developer/assessor/ mentor qualification.

  • Current DBS and safeguarding certification/qualification/checks
