Job Description

DONOR RELATIONS ADVISOR

(PART TIME MATERNITY COVER)

The Global Innovation Fund(GIF) is a non-profit, multilateral investment vehicle established to find, fund, and scale-up cost-effective, evidence-based innovations that have the potential to measurably improve the lives of millions of people living on $5 a day or less.

GIF was launched in 2013 by the U.K. and the U.S governments to invest in innovations in the public or private sector that will inspire fresh thinking and create better solutions in developing countries. These government donors were soon joined by Australia, Canada, and Sweden, alongside additional corporate and philanthropic partners, all of whom share GIF’s commitment to evidence-based innovation as a means to confronting big development challenges. GIF is headquartered in London, with offices also in Nairobi, Singapore and Washington D.C.

GIF offers grants, loans, and equity-type investments ranging from $230,000 USD to $15 million USD to support a range of innovations with strong potential for social impact at a large scale. We support innovators at different phases of development, ranging from early start-up and pilot-testing to rigorous experiments and larger scale implementation. The innovations GIF supports can be located in any developing country and may focus on any sector relevant to international development. GIF works with the private sector, NGOs, academic groups, and governments.

Donor Relations underpins all of GIF’s work: to engage with mission-aligned government agencies and organisations to improve the lives of the world’s poorest. Maintaining strong relationships with existing donors, which include government development agencies, is a key priority for the Donor Relations team and the whole organisation. As GIF looks to grow and expand its presence, identifying and engaging with new partners and donors will be critical to this success.
