Job Description
This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.
Purpose of role
The role will develop and implement marketing strategies for multiple fundraising campaigns and initiatives, supporting organisational income and engagement objectives.
Comic Relief has enjoyed a long and successful history of engaging the UK public in our flagship campaigns, Red Nose Day and Sport Relief.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the fundraising team, at the heart of Comic Relief. This is a pivotal role in helping Comic Relief achieve our goal of a Just World Free From Poverty.

Key responsibilities:
Working as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to define the marketing requirements for fundraising campaigns and engagement initiatives, and to develop and implement marketing plans to drive fundraising income.
o Creative campaign propositions/ strategic approaches to fundraising campaigns
o Look and feel guidance
o Messaging approaches and copy development
o Hero campaign assets such as advertising asset concepts or marketing photography shoots.
Work with campaign strategy and planning, content production teams and as required, external agencies, to produce campaign briefs and oversee the creative development of copy, assets and materials that bring campaigns and initiative to life.
Work with stakeholders to define and specify how marketing activities will contribute to, and help achieve, fundraising goals. Advise on key channels and tactics to deliver objectives (from awareness to conversion), whilst also ensuring comms content/activity is consistent and strategically aligned.
Work with digital fundraising experts (for example in paid media) and content delivery experts to implement marketing plans and ensure that it works effectively with other fundraising priorities and agendas for Comic Relief. This may also include:
o The management of BBC Marketing Campaigns with BBC Marketing and BBC Creative
o Day to day management of campaign creative agencies.
Working with the corporate partnerships and new business teams to introduce creative campaign propositions for new and existing corporate partners, ensuring wider integration and alignment across campaigns to enhance conversion and income generation.
Keep abreast of the fundraising marketplace to identify opportunities to enhance Comic Relief’s fundraising campaigns.
Play an active role in the Fundraising Team, working collaboratively to enable inclusivity and diversity in order to drive high performance and an action-oriented culture.
Person specification
Essential criteria
Knowledge of fundraising campaigns, fundraising tactics, and digital fundraising channels
Knowledge and experience in developing and rolling out strategic marketing planning and delivery approaches across an organisation in support of delivering fundraising outcomes. This includes:
o Experience of planning marketing activity or projects for campaigns that drive audiences to take action
o Knowledge of marketing planning and tracking, including media planning and awareness measurement
o Experience of creating campaign and channel alignment to help optimise campaigns and maximise marketing effectiveness.
Effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different styles and ways of working, including:
o Experience of working collaboratively with a range of team members
o Experience of managing external parties such as creative agencies, broadcast partner marketing teams or working collaboratively with corporate partners.
Communication:
o Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
o Strong interpersonal skills
Project management experience, able to deploy project management methodology

Experience of fundraising for international and national causes
