Job Description

eve Sleep, who?

Where do we start? Well, we've been on one heck of a journey. From our early days with just one glorious mattress-in-a-box to our name to now offering six sublimely comfy (and, ahem, award-winning) mattresses and a whole host of top-notch sleep goodies, we've come a long way since 2015. And we couldn't do it without our team of cracking individuals who make the magic happen every single day.

Not only that, but they're the driving force behind our mission to champion sleep wellness. 'What's that?' we hear you cry. Well, we think everyone deserves to feel outrageously well slept. So much so that they wake up dancing every single day. And we want to help them get there.

As a brand and as a team, we live by five core values that make up our identity, beliefs, and very DNA. They are what we live and breathe. And we're pretty darn excited about them.

We are yellow and bring a ray of sunny optimism to everything we do.

We don't believe in being sheep and thrive on bravery, individuality and curiosity. We accept people for who they are and what they want to be.

We won't sleep until you do, and we believe in what we're doing. We won't stop until it's done.

We are support experts, cheering each other on and picking each other up when we fall.

We keep things simple by talking in good old plain English to communicate easily and help each other out.

In a nutshell, we look for people who believe in our values and are as hungry as we are to unleash the power of sleep wellness.

the opportunity

We're on the lookout for an inquisitive and personable Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead the Sales and Operations Planning function within our business. You will play a critical role in ensuring that we remain consistently in stock across all key product lines while maintaining efficiencies in terms of cash flow and operating margins.

As part of the Operations Leadership Team, you will be accountable for managing and developing our supplier relationships, ensuring that we understand their needs and capabilities to leverage growth and efficiencies across the value chain.

You will work closely with your Operations peers in Logistics and Analytics to build a best-in-class E2E Supply Chain to meet eve's needs, whether manufacturing mattresses in the UK or importing bed frames from Lithuania.

eve is a business on a high growth curve, both in terms of expanding our product range and overall sales. We have a mixture of revenue streams ranging from bulk B2B retail partnerships to direct to customer fulfilments. In this exceptionally cross-functional role, you will lead a matrix team converting our marketing strategy and investment plans through to SKU and shipment level forecasts to deliver our ambitious budgets.

You will be a keen builder of process, using data to continuously improve decision making and ensuring we have the proper framework in place to plan future sales and take corrective action in flight as needed. With a strong eye for numbers and experience across sales and operational planning, you'll be able to synthesise large data sets to distil into key narratives and action plans for our internal teams and external operational partners (suppliers, warehouses and couriers).

As a Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will report to the Operations Director and have two direct reports (Demand Planning and Inbound Logistics). You will be a motivating leader who can coach and develop your team to succeed in a business going through a period of exciting change.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain professional to take the reins of our operating model for S&OP and our wider Supply Chain, with the ability to impact our long-term success significantly.

the day to day stuff

  • Lead the S&OP process from a back end/Operations perspective, partnering closely with your counterparts in eve's Commercial teams to maintain alignment on commercial planning and operational performance.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management and make trade-offs, as well as balance business needs versus constraints

  • Lead the gap analysis between our commercial "top-down" budget with our "bottom-up" SKU level forecasts, working cross-functionally to determine the best sales projections for our products

  • Standardise the process for reporting information in S&OP, ensuring that the right level of information is available to the right audience at the right time.

  • Support your Demand Manager in translating our business forecasts into supply plans which we can communicate to our suppliers for raw material ordering and production purposes.

  • Define our future approach to supplier relationship management, improving our ways of working with our operational partners to improve efficiency and flexibility (e.g. reducing order to delivery lead times)

  • Convert our agreed forecasts into financial projections for stock capital and inbound/storage costs, ensuring we stay within these guidelines or take corrective action as needed

  • Operate as our Subject Matter Expert in developing our S&OP system, Stock IQ, working to best leverage its capabilities in forecasting, ordering, and reporting.

  • Obsessive focus on continuous improvement across the Supply Chain, ranging from improving our product stratification management through to identifying means to improve forecast accuracy for both new and existing product lines

  • Improve our Supply Chain resilience on an ongoing basis through assessment of our procurement model, safety stocks, and other levers to ensure we can whether any future supply chain disruption as effectively as possible

you should apply if you have:

  • Proven track record of leading a Supply Chain function and adding value to S&OP development in an eCommerce D2C environment

  • Capability to analyse large data sets and convert these into clear, action-oriented narratives

  • High levels of emotional intelligence with the ability to influence stakeholders up to Exec level, both internally and externally, to make positive change for the business

  • Strong communication skills to facilitate large, cross-functional meetings, holding a matrix team to account for delivering against a process and clear agenda

  • Bias toward standardisation and process simplification. You will be process focused and able to build strong and scalable ways of working at pace.

  • Naturally driven, you can work on your own initiative, confident to make decisions even in ambiguous situations

  • Technical experience in developing operations systems to underpin the work of Supply Chain

  • Financial acumen, able to translate plans into commercial projections for the business

  • We’re a small team; everyone needs to work and support one another. You’ll be rewarded with a real understanding of how your work has impacted the business.

  • We pivot faster than our dancing sloth here at eve, so you will need to be flexible and okay with change, staying clear on strategy and priorities.

  • We care and respect each other at eve and look for those who do the same whilst building and maintaining relationships with others.

  • Building the eve culture is important to us, and we look for those who are passionate about what we are doing, contribute to this and are eager to join us on the journey of sleep wellness.

it would also be great if you had:

  • Experience with Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting systems

  • Previous people management experience

what you'll love about us

Aside from the job role, the people and our culture, we have a few other things that make eve a pretty fantastic place to be:

  • No more sleepless nights. Once you have passed probation, you will receive an eve mattress and pillow on us. Believe us, and you will never have been so excited about a mattress and pillow. There's also a generous staff discount and one for family and friends, too.

  • Looking after you. You'll have the choice to sign up for private health insurance with Vitality on completion of probation. We'll cover the cost while you enjoy 24/7 online GPs, access to excellent medical care, incentive points to get fit or stay fit, and some seriously fantastic discounts.

  • Flexible hours. Being a sleep wellness company, we know that people tend to be either an early bird or a night owl or something in-between. That's why we have flexible hours to help everyone be the very best version of themselves (and catch those extra zzz's).

  • Hybrid working. We know working away from the office comes with its benefits; better work-life balance and more flexibility. So, it seems silly to take that all away, and we've introduced a hybrid way of working.

  • Holiday. You'll get 25 days a year, excluding Bank Holidays. And, we'll give you an extra day's holiday every year after you've worked with us for two years, up to a maximum of 30 days. Nice, eh?

  • Birthday day. Fancy an extra day off on your special day? We give you a day's annual leave in addition to your 25 days on your birthday. Make sure you celebrate in style.

  • Grow with us. We're passionate about your growth, and throughout each year, we want to champion (and understand) your personal development goals. We also host personal and professional learning opportunities.

  • Cycle to work scheme. We believe in your overall wellness and want to support where we can. So, after three months with us, you can apply to our Cycle to Work scheme and invest in some seriously cool wheels.

  • Electric Car Scheme. Are you trying to be a bit greener and fancy swapping over to an electric motor? Well, we're partnered with The Electric Car Scheme to offer you the chance to lease a new car with excellent savings.

  • Sharing is caring. We talk about mental health and believe it's a fundamental human right to feel supported. That's why we work with Spill, a remote mental health service that provides support in all different shapes and sizes. This one's on us, so use it to your heart's content.

  • Culture champs. The word culture is thrown around these days. But we live for ours. That's why we've got a team of proactive culture champs who plan fun stuff that brings us all together. So whether it's a remote cooking lesson, a brain gym sesh or a surprise in the post, we've got a smashing culture that gives back on the reg. And we're pretty damn proud of it.

  • Wednesday brekkie. We set you up with a healthy breakfast every Wednesday morning to fuel you through the day when we're in the office.

  • Wednesday drinks. What better way to get over hump week with a gathering tipple? Some weeks we host games, and other weeks we have a general chinwag.

  • Not your typical bonus. Our people enjoy the same financial bonus, regardless of experience, salary or seniority. This is just one way we're smashing inclusivity.

  • Share the love. We're always looking for talented people to join the eve team. So if you recommend someone for a role we are recruiting for, and they're successful, you'll receive £500 once they complete their 3-month probation. Nice.

  • Simply The Best. We're not afraid to champion each others' successes, which is why we hold monthly Simply The Best nominations and recognitions to shine a light on successes across the business, no matter how big or small.

  • Learning Day. We want our employees to grow & learn everyday. So we offer everyone a learning day once a quarter, to invest in their professional development.

  • Doggy friendly. Yup, you read that right. Our workplace is doggy friendly, so some of our team bring their furry friends in a few days a week.
