Job Description
Introduction to the Role
This is an excellent position in a dynamic sector of publishing, providing support to the Central Group Sales team.
The role will require an extremely high level of organisation and initiative, as well as an ability to rapidly acquire a high level of competency on company systems and confident use of Microsoft Office applications, and an excellent working knowledge of Excel. We’re looking for personable, bright individual who can learn quickly and use their own initiative. A problem solver with an aptitude for analysing large sets of data and ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
The role offers solid experience supporting the team selling to a selection of supermarket and High St Retailers. It’s a real opportunity for gaining an unmatched insight into the publishing landscape, and the workings of publishing divisions across all genres.
Responsibilities
Data and Analysis:
Assist Deputy Retail Director in organising group schedule to suit relevant retail promotions
Report in-store pricing across bricks and mortar retail, and use data to feed into our retail deals
Interrogate sales reporting, identifying trends and creating contextualised reports on sales promotions.
Digital Sales:
Provide administrative support to the Group Retail team.
Support the Group Sales team in selling effectively to all key retailers for all HarperCollins publishing divisions.
Create and maintain quarterly sell-in presentations and excel grids.
Liaise effectively with divisional sales teams to ensure information is shared and promotion plans are clearly communicated
Manage all team admin including raising PO’s and ensuring all costs are loaded onto systems in a timely manner.
Coordinate all general office administration across the department ensuring the smooth management of information and resources.
Collate weekly sales figures by account for communication across the business.
Person Specification
Admin experience
Experience of utilising advanced Excel
Knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Experience of supporting a busy team
Skills
Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbally
Professional, reliable, able to work quickly under pressure and use own initiative
Effective time management
Very organised
Must have excellent attention to detail
