Job Description

Lead on products that help teachers to change children’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Evanglise for, identify and deliver user-focused products that grow usage and improve user experience based on a deep understanding of Oak’s users and lean and agile methodologies

  • Drive product and feature launches working with school support team, senior team, and other product and education team members

  • Support the development of Oak's product strategy, and translate this into detailed roadmaps, initiatives and prototypes

  • Develop and manage a high performing team of Product Managers 

  • Manage and effectively prioritise the work of teams and squads to deliver impactful products quickly, meeting release schedules

  • Work in cross-functional and product oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation as required

  • Maintain specialist expertise in Product Management and be the authority across Oak

  • As a member of the Oak team, contribute to the strategy, planning and model the culture of the organisation

  • Deputise for the Head of Product Strategy and take on other general responsibilities as required

  • Manage a Product budget

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Product Management and lean and agile methodologies

  • Experience of recruiting, developing and managing a high performing Product team, and working with technical engineering teams

  • Demonstrated success in defining initiatives, building features and launching impactful education technology products

  • Technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

  • Specific understanding of web accessibility requirements

The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.
