Job Description
The Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Manager will work with the CEO, Senior Exec Team, Director of People (DOP), People Team and Communications team to drive the HarperCollins UK inclusion agenda and accelerate positive change for our business.
This role is a critical hire for our business and will be integral in helping our organisation to enact positive, inclusive change.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Work with the DOP to continually develop and refresh the D&I Strategy and race equality strategy, providing guidance and consultation to HarperCollins CEO, Exec team, senior managers, the People function, the Communications function and all employees.
Manage multiple D&I projects from initiation to execution working collaboratively through the business and its Stakeholders.
Along with the DOP and People Team, help drive strategies to promote a culture of belonging that accepts all.
Design and deliver programmes ranging from mentoring, sponsorship, reverse schemes, workshops and keynotes etc. that provide positive change in our business and ROI.
Work closely with the internal communications team to maintain and monitor a D&I events calendar and organise company-wide subject experts to help influence HCUK on its journey
Mandate Inclusion related learning and development to promote active change management for all employees.
Increase our brand reputation as an organisation that is known for fairness in its talent attraction and recruitment practices to hire the best diverse talent.
Working closely with the Recruitment Manager and People team to increase diverse talent attraction and increase inclusivity in our recruitment practices
Cultivate our diversity network groups, connect employees with external experts and support our networks to improve our workplace culture. Suggest and consider innovations for our network group position.
Run and continually improve our annual D&I Survey and gender pay reporting to ensure we collect the right information that informs our strategy
Use relevant research data (as well as intuition) to show the ROI of D&I. In addition, identify demographic trends and best practices that enhance HCUK’s inclusion efforts
Skills and experience required:
In depth knowledge of best practice and the legislative framework that supports diversity, inclusion and equality.
Experience of practical application of policies, practices and procedures with demonstrable success.
Demonstrable experience of developing, managing, delivering and evaluating equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge of D&I practices and programmes.
Deep-dive understanding of the latest D&I trends within the market to enable an innovative approach to creating an inclusive culture.
Programme delivery from initiation, design, execution and facilitation.
Experience of building D&I initiatives, measuring success and identifying key areas of business for improvement with an emphasis on tracking progress.
Experience of D&I research and data analytics.
A genuine passion for corporate inclusion as well as the media/publishing/digital sectors.
Able to quickly understand the challenges in the media and publishing sector and have a solutions orientated approach with limited budget capacity.
A collaborative team player that is able to build strong relationships
Ability to handle a fast-paced changing organisation.
Strong project management expertise including experience in running multiple projects and change management initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to develop relationships with all levels of employees.
