Job Description

PURPOSE 

This is an exciting new analysis role within the Men’s Analysis and Insights department. This role is an integral part of the future of the department, working alongside the lead analyst, it will provide impactful data and insights to our men red and Whiteball teams. The role will be a novel combination of traditional performance analysis support delivery and the integration of cutting-edge data science techniques to ensure the decision makers in the England Men’s (Red and Whiteball) teams, and where appropriate The Lions and Young Lions, are given optimal insights to help inform decision making.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work alongside lead analyst to provide Pre and Post series/match data insights and video to appropriate leaders, coaches and players 

  • Drive forward the existing data and video systems and processes used by the England Men’s Rad and Whiteball Teams, ensuring efficiency and impact 

  • Working in collaboration with our pathway analyst to help provide selection and pathway insights for the England Men’s Red and White ball teams 

  • Working closely with coaching and sports science team to provide an environment that is data and feedback rich 

  • Be a collaborative, flexible and impactful member of the ECB Performance Analysis team, ensuring that the optimal processes learnt and applied within the Men’s Senior Red and White ball game are applied across and along the Lions Men’s, Women’s and Disability pathway 

  • Creating strong relationships with internal and external technology and data stakeholders and partners to ensure processes and delivery are efficient and impactful 

YOU’LL HAVE

  • 5-10 years of delivery of Performance Analysis support at domestic (county and or franchise) or international level cricket  

  • MSc/PhD in relevant subject or equivalent practical experience 

  • An excellent understanding of the requirement of analysis in international cricket using tracking data, video provision and supporting software and hardware infrastructure (especially the use of PCS pro, Excel, Fulltrack AI, Hawkeye (iHawk), Power BI, Tableau, and Dartfish)   

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels (including but not limited to coaches, players, senior management, service providers and ancillary roles around cricket) whilst understanding the importance of humility
