Job Description

Overview

Arrival is looking for an experienced (10+ years), purpose-driven culture and leadership change consultant to join our Inclusive Leadership Practice in a senior role.

You will take a leading role on exciting, high impact work with a range of blue-chip clients - helping them develop confident and capable inclusive leaders and/or lead work that helps them define and cultivate a genuinely inclusive culture, where anyone can thrive.

Arrival is becoming synonymous with delivering the behavioural change needed to truly unlock the power of Inclusion. We therefore need to find great people who can deliver market-defining Leadership and Culture change work with clients and rebalance some of the increasing workload burden of our senior team.

This is an exciting time for Arrival. We hope that it fits an exciting moment for an experienced, senior leadership and culture change consultant, who either has some experience of, or growing passion for, working in the space of inclusive leadership and culture, and wants to make a mark.

What you’ll do

  • Take the day-to-day lead of some of our most important client relationships

  • Lead the design and delivery (including coaching 1-1s and workshop facilitation) of both inclusive leadership and inclusive culture development activity with both c-suite and senior leaders and leadership teams

  • Manage junior consulting staff on client work

What you’ll need to bring

  • A deep understanding of what it takes to create culture change and the importance of leadership as a key component of that (and how to create leadership change)

  • Experience of designing for and managing all aspects of high-stakes leadership and culture change work with Blue-Chip Clients

  • A reasonable knowledge of and/or passion for doing more to help develop inclusive leaders, who create inclusive culture and from which organisations can unlock the power of D&I

  • A natural ability and experience of designing and facilitating high-impact, unique leadership sessions, workshops, or events - in 1-1s or groups

Who you like to be at work

  • Cool with chaos and uncertainty - we are fast-paced, build-it-as-we-go sort of an organisation. You thrive in environments where there are rarely clearcut answers, where we collaborate, build, implement and adjust as we go. You enjoy creating and building things from scratch and measure progress over perfection. We want people who are excited by the opportunity to help us design and develop our approach and ultimately build our business.

  • Someone who loves to stretch and grow and leans into challenge - what we do is intellectually and emotionally demanding. We are often changing people who don't want to change and we have to design clever approaches that help leaders grow. This can require us to hold the space in challenging moments and lean into difficult conversations. We have big ambitions for our business and the change we want to create, which will take everyone in our team pushing beyond their perceived limits.

  • Highly professional, profoundly yourself - We are an honest, open, caring group of people, who live and breathe what we do, how we do it and why we do it. We balance purpose with professionalism and operate with integrity and authenticity. We enjoy mixing fun with a focus on delivering great impact and setting high professional standards.

What you’ll get out of this role

  • The chance to change significant organisations (think Sky, GSK, Tesco) and some of the most influential people in these businesses (CEO’s, CPO’s, CXO’s and other business leaders) - working with the people who can, and do, make the biggest difference in organisations

  • The chance to shape something special and different - we are growing and ever evolving, as well as taking a ‘every client problem is new’ approach, and so this is a chance to innovate and learn

  • The chance to work in an organisation that has spent 20 years transforming life outcomes for socially and ethnically diverse talent - a pursuit that still sits at the heart of our purpose today

Who might this suit - though we’ll love to explore any sort of background

  • Someone looking to break the chain - working in a larger, high-profile consultancy but looking for something that provides a bit more freedom and opportunity to build something new and take on more accountability (we have people here that have worked for the likes for Deloitte and PwC for example)

  • Someone with loads of experience of culture and/or leadership change, perhaps working in a smaller boutique or as an independent consultant, looking to join a slightly bigger, growing organisation that you can help on its journey

  • Someone who wants to accelerate their career - you might have a great grounding in leadership and culture change, be a really strong professional services client lead, but are being held back by traditional career ladders - we need people who can lead significant work, so if you’re good enough, you’ll be given the chance

The key skills and knowledge that you’ll need to have

  • Client solution development and delivery scoping

  • Budget estimation

  • Budget management

  • Client contracting

  • Scope management

  • Client / programme onboarding

  • Client relationship management (inc C-suite level relationships) - building, evolving, management

  • Client solution planning, delivery, impact reporting

  • Team resourcing and management

  • Identification of new opportunities within existing clients

To deliver the impact:

  • High quality presentation, report, collateral design and production

  • Advanced human journey design skills - for long-term programmes and sessions/events

  • Advanced culture assessment and design skills

  • Professional and pragmatic approach to programme

  • Advanced facilitation skills for workshops and events involving C-Suite and senior leaders - up to 30

  • 1-1 coaching - with C-suite executive and senior leaders, covering knowledge, mindset, behaviour, and management required to be an Inclusive Leader and lead organisational change

  • High quality insight gathering and analysis - from interviews, focus groups or process and documentation reviews

  • Intellectual curiosity and capacity to understand and clarify complex organisational, leadership, cultural, and people dynamics

  • Experience of understanding how businesses operate and the ability to use this to inform and shape how we work and advise leaders in the specific realities of businesses, to deliver change
