Job Description

About this role:

Supporting the Senior People Business Partners, the People Administrator will act as initial point of contact for all people administrative queries. This role will collaborate with the wider People team in London and Glasgow to ensure the department runs efficiently and offers a high level of service.  

 We are looking for an enthusiastic, numerate, and detailed oriented person, who enjoys working in a fast-paced People team. You will bring your ideas and efficiencies to continue to develop our processes and the way we work. You will be client focused and understand the importance of great customer care and how this impacts the employee experience.  

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage the starters, leavers, and employee changes processes, drafting contracts, employee letters, and other employee related administration tasks. 

  • Conduct weekly inductions alongside the People Advisor for all new starters. Support managers with the onboarding of new employees. 

  • Update and maintain accurate records, databases and systems for HR and payroll. 

  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics. 

  • Payroll administration tasks – including making changes on SAP ensuring accuracy at all times.  

  • Assist in administering salary reviews, bonus schemes and act as main point of contact for employee queries.  

  • Act as first point of contact for all employee queries relating to policies and procedures.  

  • Advise employees on total compensation including holidays, healthcare, pension, and the flexible benefits programme. 

  • Work closely with the People Advisor to ensure the process for parental leave, probations and exit interviews runs as smoothly as possibly.  

  • Maintain HarperHome (intranet) to ensure the People & Culture pages are accurate and kept up to date. Liaise with the People Advisor and People Business Partners to help create content.  

  • Maintain and update accurate monthly organisational charts and HR intranet sites. 

  • General admin tasks to help the smooth running of the division.  

  • Assist and support the People Business Partners and wider People team in ongoing activities and projects as and when required.  

 Skills required:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role is required.  

  • Excellent data inputting and attention to detail skills.  

  • Strong numeracy skills.  

  • Outstanding organisational, time management and prioritising skills. 

  • Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining accuracy.  

  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills. 

  • Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Word and particularly Excel.  

  • Collaboration – a real team player.  

  • Professional approach to work – able to maintain confidentiality.  

  • A helpful and willing attitude – supporting colleagues both in the People team and wider business.  

  • A passion for delivering great customer experience by solving problems and interlinking processes.
