Job Description

The role is responsible for delivering successful, strategic marketing and publicity campaigns for Collins children’s non-fiction and reference lists, to meet expected revenue targets. It contributes to the division’s strategic objectives and supports other market sectors as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing & PR Director to develop, write and implement multi-channel marketing and PR plans for key lists, on time and to budget.

  • Produce marketing and PR campaigns that deliver ideas with accuracy and flair, targeting appropriate audiences with relevant messages and appropriate use of design.

  • Set up and maintain effective Amazon marketing campaigns using AMS, create and upload A+ page assets, book retail packages, request vine copies and manage author pages relevant to key lists.

  • Manage the digital marketing activity for Collins4Parents, including social content, newsletters and relevant website pages to drive sales and audience reach.

  • Set up and run cost effective digital marketing campaigns to extend our reach into the parent market and grow our audience size and engagement on social accounts.

  • Pitch authors for events, interviews, and secure media coverage for frontlist publishing ahead of launch and on publication.

  • Up-date and deliver the Trade Children’s Reference Catalogues.

  • Work with Head of Marketing and PR and key stakeholders to develop and drive key channels and company strategic objectives, and ensure that quality work is delivered to schedule and budget.

  • Measure and report on campaign performance.

  • Work with publishers to add value at each milestone in the product lifecycle eg research, testing, positioning, packaging and succession planning.

  • Work with the sales team with ongoing support, effective materials and sales initiatives as required. Present product and marketing campaigns to the sales team as required.

  • Communicate planned activity in advance to stakeholders across the division to ensure that the sales team, editors and customer services can properly support it.

  • Identify and develop key partners in the sector to extend reach and brand awareness.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Established marketing expertise, ideally developed across B2C

  • Proven track record in managing campaigns utilising all elements of the marketing mix- Email, PPC, PR, advertising.

  • A clear, accurate writing style and the ability to produce fluent and persuasive copy.

  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

  • Able to supervise freelancers effectively through clear briefing, setting expectations and feeding back constructively and regularly.

  • Use initiative to develop new ideas and solve problems.

  • Ensure that all marketing output is customer-focused and responds to key market trends and initiatives across markets.
