eve Sleep who? 

Where do we start? Well, we’ve been on one heck of a journey. From our early days with just 1 glorious mattress-in-a-box to our name to now offering 6 sublimely comfy (and, ahem, award-winning) mattresses and a whole host of top notch sleep goodies, we’ve come a long way since 2015. And we couldn’t do it without our team of cracking individuals who make the magic happen every single day.

the opportunity 

eve sleep is at a crucial crossroads, moving from the world of a start-up into a ‘scale-up. Moving into our teenage/young adult years, if you will, with all the more complex business challenges. 

We have the strong foundations of a great brand and have spent the past few years making sure that every element of the brand excels. We need to cement the brand's voice across all touchpoints, and as a copywriter, at eve you would be integral in doing this. We have ambitious plans and a huge amount of energy within our teams to achieve our goals.  

You will be reporting to the Head of Brand. You will work closely with them to lead the future direction of the eve brand as a sleep wellness business and embed our tone of voice across all customer touchpoints and marketing channels.  

 

the day-to-day 

  • Work alongside the CMO to deliver the eve tone of voice across all channels in all formats.  

  • Use the tone of voice guidelines to produce and critique copy that is effective and on-brand. 

  • As a brand guardian, you’ll ensure all written work across the business is brand building whilst effective in meeting its commercial objectives. 

  • Develop a strong relationship with each team member in the creative team, especially with the Graphic Designer who is the other half of the in-house agency creative team.  

  • Collaborate with the wider Marketing Team to write copy that reflects our brand and strategy – across all channels, including performance, web content and CRM.  

  • Work on specific campaigns to drive brand awareness and consideration and the drumbeat of all the BAU activity. You will need to be comfortable writing both impactful advertising copy as well as longer-form descriptive copy.    

  • Lead through from initial brief to final execution alongside our Designer, supplying all copy required across all assets. 

  • Own a part of the creative process and move through the steps systematically. You’ll have a positive in-house agency mentality, championing the skills sitting within the business, delivering best in class creative against clear briefs.  

  • Manage the delivery of French copy directly with a French copywriter.  

 

what we’ll love about you 

  • A real lover of well-written copy that really communicates a brand’s DNA, helping to build a compelling brand  

  • Ability to write flamboyantly and with eye-catching pizazz. You’re not afraid to embrace the freedom of a tight brief and inject personality and character into even the tightest word limit 

  • Excellent attention to detail and, it goes without saying, an excellent grasp of the English language, spelling and grammar 

  • Comfortable writing both impactful advertising copy along with longer-form descriptive copy as well as presenting your work to stakeholders at all levels throughout the business and receiving rapid and direct feedback 

  • Experience writing copy specifically for the end asset, i.e., word count constraints, industry best practice, etc. 

  • Fluent in all Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, also Google cloud software 

  • As a self-starter, you have a contagious spirit to help us build the best brand we can. You’ll also be highly collaborative and welcome working closely with the rest of the team and wider business 

  • You need to be systematic in how you approach a brief, whatever size that may be. You’ll be as comfortable in concept development as you are in writing campaign copy across numerous assets 

  • Ideally, you will be familiar with the more strategic side of how a brand is structured, including brand architecture and naming strategy is approached 

  • You need to be thinking ahead, always keen to push excellence within our copy, to spot opportunities for brand building 

  • Things move at a quicker pace than our dancing sloth, so you’ll need to be flexible and okay with change 

  • Experience of copywriting in an agency, with in house, journalistic or digital content experience a bonus 

  • Understanding and experience of copy led brands and an obvious understanding of the essential nature of tone of voice in communicating a brand’s proposition 

  • You’re a pro at using your initiative, have a can-do attitude and always want to learn and grow
