Job Description
PURPOSE
This key role in the ECB Events Department will lead on all aspects of Safety & Security that relates to venues, competitions, major events, teams and ECB staff both nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the ECB Events team, Men’s, Women’s and Disability Performance Teams, Professional game team and will ensure consistency of documentation, planning and operational delivery across the organisation.
The individual will form part of the Events Leadership Team and work closely with the Director of Events, the Production Director, The Head of Operations - The Hundred and Head of ICC Events on all aspects of safety & security across Cricket in England & Wales.
They will also represent the ECB at the national and international level engaging with stakeholders and colleagues across the Major Event Industry, SGSA, Police and National Emergency Services, Government Departments including Home Office & FCDO, International Cricket Boards, and the International Cricket Council (ICC).

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

You enjoy devising and implementing both strategic and operational plans as well as managing a team and delivery partners across a complex year of sport.
YOU’LL BE DOING
Advising ECB senior management and the board on safety & security matters
Providing strategic oversight of risk management, contingency planning and horizon scanning, including readiness and testing for major events.
Ensuring regulatory compliance on safety & security matters and liaising with The Cricket Regulator as required.
Business planning on all aspects of safety & security including budget, resource planning and contract management
Liaison with key government departments including the Home Office and FCDO, in partnership with the ECB Public Policy team.
Act on intelligence according to risk assessments and threat levels both nationally and internationally.
Tendering, appointing and managing all security related contracts.
Liaison with the International Cricket Council (ICC), International Cricket Boards, strategic leads from other major sports and event organisers
Liaison with the England Performance teams on all aspects of safety & security matters relating to tours both nationally and internationally.
Liaison with the Events team on the delivery of all domestic competitions, major matches and major events.
YOU’LL HAVE
Proven experience of the delivery of major live sports events in a dynamic safety & security environment.
Experience of operating at a strategic level within an established command structure
The ability to build relationships across multiple clients, stakeholders and authorities.
Excellent people skills including an empathetic approach, with the ability to have difficult conversations as required.
A collaborative working approach and an appetite to deliver world class cricket.
The ability to compile and present plans at senior management and board level.
