Job Description
Purpose
The purpose of the new and exciting England Women’s Cricket Intelligence Strategy is to support in making impactful cricket decisions, faster. Critically, this includes positively impacting decision making in both training and gameday environments across our pathway, ensuring our young and talented female cricketers learn and develop faster than our competitors. As such an opportunity has arisen to become England Women U19 Performance Analyst for our tour to Sri Lanka in 2024.
The role will take the lead on the provision, interpretation and explanation of key cricket intelligence within both training and game day environments throughout the preparation and performance phases of the triangular series with Sri Lanka and Australia U19 teams.
The purpose of the England Women U19 tour to Sri Lanka is provide unique learning opportunities in an inspirational development environment with competitive exposure at an international level for players deemed with the highest potential to play for England Women in the future, as well as players highlighting key potential to further their career within the domestic game.
This tour sits within the interim year between ICC U19 Women’s World Cups and so provides an opportunity to expose players who will be eligible for that World Cup programme in January 2025, as well as continue to provide opportunities for players that aren’t eligible (through age) but are demonstrating continued high potential.
Specifically, the England Women U19 Performance Analyst will lead the cricket intelligence services for the duration of the tour. Immersed within the coaching team, the post holder will ensure:
The accurate and timely provision of well-rounded performance insight
The effective interpretation of performance insight to generate learning opportunities and accelerate player development.
The seizing of opportunities through clear and confident communication in both training and game day environments.
The role will require availability at the following training camps and tour dates (a maximum of 32 days; 19 days on tour; 13 days for planning, preparation phase & review stage).
Training camps:
o 12th - 14th January 2024
o 3rd & 4th and 14th – 16th February 2024
o 2nd & 3rd and 16th & 17th March 2024
EW U19 tour – Sri Lanka triangular with Australia
o 23rd March to 10th April 2024 (exact travel dates subject to slight change)
Further days and times may be required for specific staff/player meetings, planning opportunities, travel and a significant review process providing cricket intelligence to both key stakeholders are expected, taking the overall number of days for this role to 32.
We are seeking an individual with a track record in supporting high potential cricketers with an in-depth knowledge of women’s cricket (either within the domestic or international game). The successful candidate will have shown their ability to provide, interpret and seize opportunities that positively impact both training and game day environments.
The role will be based at the National Cricket Performance Centre, Loughborough. The role will involve work during unsociable hours, weekends and school holidays and will require an extended period away from home whilst on tour. Key dates that require full commitment are provided above.

YOU’LL BE DOING
Undertake live match coding for England U19 cricket matches using PCS pro software platforms.
The provision of accurate, well rounded cricket intelligence and analytical support in line with the needs and requirements of both player and coaching staff.
The effective maintenance and storage of performance insight, ensuring seamless accessibility and delivery in a timely manner.
Supporting Head and Assistant Coaches with video and data feedback within the training environment as required.
Through effective interpretation and explanation of insight and intelligence, support the coaching team to create player learning opportunities within the training environment.
The provision of cricket intelligence to inform objective player selection and support impactful decision making.
The development of comprehensive pre and post-game reporting structures to influence player development plans.
In partnership with Head and Assistant Coaches, support the development of tactical game plans and opposition analysis to maximise our opportunities of success of the field of play.
Collaborate and contribute to supporting the longitudinal tracking of short and medium-term Player Development Plans for identified players.
Effectively contribute to the coaching and multi-disciplinary support teams, providing appropriate challenge and support with the development of players for international cricket
Work with all England Women Pathway staff to ensure effective programming, integrated Science & Medicine support, players development and operational support for the U19 Sri Lanka tour programme.
Through the effective provision of cricket intelligence, support the development of a robust review process of the U19 Sri Lanka tour programme following the completion of the triangular series to capture best practice and key learnings for all players.
YOU’LL HAVE
Have a passion for supporting players and staff to develop an environment that drives learning through a sustainable person-focused culture.
Experience of providing cricket intelligence or knowledge management services to high performing cricket teams
Previous experience in supporting or evaluating high potential female athletes.
Demonstrable experience of contributing to multi-disciplinary teams in high performance sport.
Good knowledge of women’s cricket at both regional and international levels
Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with exceptional standards of professionalism and integrity.
A high degree of personal resilience to cope with the demands of touring and to be relied on by the organisation, players and staff to handle pressure in critical moments.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Safeguarding Children certification – a DBS disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details an individual’s criminal record and where appropriate gives details of those who are barred from working with children.
Understand the importance of safeguarding and be able to demonstrate awareness of how to apply best practice principles in a performance pathway environment.
High levels of energy and enthusiasm
Honesty, tact and strong will to succeed.
Excellent IT and data visualisation skills with competent ability using Microsoft Office programmes, Power Bi or Tableau
Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel independently to various venues across the country.

£150 day rate (general benefits may not be applicable for consultant and secondment roles)
Reasonable travel expenses incurred by the consultant on tour, will be paid for.
