Job Description

​​​​​​This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of job:

We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Manager to oversee the seamless integration of data from multiple sources into our Azure Data Lake and Salesforce NFP Cloud. The successful candidate will be responsible for orchestrating the flow of data through various stages including cleansing, harmonization, and ultimately integration into Salesforce NFP Cloud and Marketing Cloud. This role requires expertise in data management technologies, particularly Azure Data Lake, Salesforce NFP, and Azure Data Factory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Data Integration Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data integration strategy to ensure efficient and accurate flow of data from diverse sources into and out of the Azure data lake, including archiving. 

  • Azure Data Factory optimisation: Maintain and optimize Azure Data Factory ETL pipelines and functions to ensure efficient and reliable data orchestration in and out of the data lake 

  • CRM Implementation: Lead the data integration with Salesforce NFP Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with data lake and other systems using APIs and partner services 

  • Data Cleansing and Harmonization: Utilize Aperture Data Studio to cleanse and harmonize data within the Azure data lake, ensuring data quality and consistency. 

  • Legacy Database Decommissioning: Oversee the decommissioning process of legacy SQL Server 2016 databases, migrating relevant data to the Azure data lake or other appropriate systems and ensuring quality control and archiving. 

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Developers, Data Analysts, Data Quality Administrators, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. 

  • Documentation: Document data integration processes, configurations, and workflows to ensure comprehensive understanding and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organisation. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot data integration processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.   

  • Security: Ensure data security is maintained and data protection issues are taken into account. 

  • Procedures: Adhere to appropriate code management, change control, and release management procedures. 

  • Support for the requirements of the Data & Analytics Team, and the wider Technology directorate. 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Proven experience in data integration, ETL development, and data management. 

  • Expertise in Azure data technologies including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Functions. 

  • Proficiency in data cleansing and transformation. 

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce NFP Cloud and Marketing Cloud, including SOQL. 

  • T-SQL, KQL, C#, Powershell, and Python 

  • Experience with legacy database migration and decommissioning processes. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

  • Database Administration. 

  DESIRABLE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Experience working in a nonprofit or philanthropic organization 

  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Aperture Data Studio. 

  • Salesforce certification(s) such as Salesforce Certified Developer. 

  • Experience of using Github for source control. 

  • Experience of working in an Agile environment. 

  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
