Job Description

We’re on the lookout for a sports-loving social media whizz. If you know your Redknapp from your Retweet, then this is the one for you! Experience in social media management and the running of brand pages would be fantastic – especially if you know the ins and outs of Facebook Business Manager/ Creator Studio, Instagram Insights and Twitter Analytics. But as long as you’re organised, brilliant writing style, personal and chatty manner, and a stickler for detail… We want to hear from you! Fun bits aside, handling data and insights will be part of the job, as will being able to research content to populate our ambitious new social media schedule for the Sport Relief 2020 campaign.

Roles and responsibilities:         

  • Reporting to the Social Media and Communities Manager to develop an audience-first and always-on approach to Sport Relief 2020

  • Scheduling and posting, as well as writing engaging and entertaining copy for different platforms. Being able to communicate a strong message in less than 240 characters is essential.

  • Assisting with creative brainstorming and idea generation.

  • Excellent community management skills – a friendly, prompt and articulate writing manner

  • Assist the Social Media and Communities Manager with populating Sport Relief and Comic Relief social media pages with vibrant, funny and engaging content.

  • Know your way around social media analytical tools such as Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Analytics and Google Adwords.

  • Able to analyse and glean actionable insights from data

  • Some knowledge of Facebook and Twitter ads would be desirable

  • Good knowledge of social media trends and how different audiences and demographics interact with social media on a daily basis.

  • Working with the Social Media and Communities Manager and Communities Management Assistant on an on-call rota during the Sport Relief campaign to ensure that social media feeds are being checked out of working hours.

  • An understanding of escalation procedures where appropriate.    

Ideal Person:

  • Fun, bubbly and full of energy! Great sense of humour and a team player.

  • Oodles of digital confidence. The nuances of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube come to you like a second language.

  • Sports lover – This is desirable as we need someone who knows what they’re talking about during Sport Relief!

  • Experience in social media marketing 

  • Understands the importance of brand alignment across all social media platforms.

  • Great research skills – Know how to spot a good shareable article, or a funny relatable meme, or even an emerging hashtag trend.

  • Audience-focussed and a good understanding of what people do and don’t engage with.

  • A challenger! Break down boundaries, try new things, and bring your creativity to the table.
