Events Executive

The Role

The Satellite Applications Catapult is looking for a Events Executive to join our busy marketing and communications team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on everything we do across the whole marketing mix and inform and influence stakeholders across industry and Government.

The role will work with teams across the whole Catapult, making it an ideal position for someone looking to grow their experience, get stuck in and learn from highly experienced marketing professionals.

The role will have a strong focus on supporting our events activity. We run upwards of 40 events a year which include major international tradeshows, workshops, hosting visits from international delegations, engagement with international NGOs and STEM engagement activities.  To support these activities, the Satellite Applications Catapult is lucky to have world-class event facilities in Harwell including a satellite operations centre, two giant video-wall rooms, a demo centre and a range of other flexible event space. Two major in-person events in 2024, include the Farnborough International Airshow and Geobusiness at Excel.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Willingness to get involved with a range of activities across the whole marketing mix. This involves getting involved with events from start to finish, including the administration involved.

  • Willingness to learn and develop

  • Eagerness to work hard, be flexible and deliver excellent results

  • Solid experience within an events role

  • Demonstrable experience of planning, delivering and reporting on marketing events

  • Experience of working with event agencies including stand builders, designers and event management companies

  • Experience of working with stakeholders from multiple business units and from external organizations

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight competing deadlines

  • Exceptional motivational skills and ability to work on own initiative

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Client liaison and management skills
