Job Description


We are looking for expressions of interest for a Fast-Bowling Coach to cover the Young Lions programme during Summer 2021. This post will begin on Monday 23 August until Sunday 26 September. The practitioner will form part of the wider Young Lions Coaching Team.

The successful person will show a genuine desire to want to work with adolescent cricketers and have the necessary personal attributes when working with this age group.

We expect the overall commitment to be not more than 30 days and will consider fixed term contract, consultancy or secondment. The current programme dates during this period are:

•         Series vs West Indies (based in Kent) 29 Aug – 18 Sep

•         Young Lions Best v Best weekend (based at the ECB Performance Centre in Loughborough) 25-26 Sep

There will be the need to communicate well with County Practitioners and flexibility for preparation and follow up outside of these blocks as required.


Job Description:

  • Coaching Young Lions players, ensuring that they are prepared for the demands of international age-group cricket.

  • In collaboration with counties, aiding the development and management of Young Lions players.

  • Assume coaching roles and responsibilities during the England U19 series and contribute to the wider England U19 Coaching Team.

  • Contribute to the off-field activities throughout the England U19 series, including assisting with safeguarding responsibilities.

Key requirements:


  • Level Three Coach

  • Experience of working with elite adolescent cricketers

  • Experience of, or willingness to work in an integrated management team

  • Growth-mindset

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Excellent communicator



  • Level Four Coach

  • International coaching or playing experience
