Job Description
PURPOSE
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is the biennial global tournament for women’s T20 international (T20I) cricket. The 2026 event will be the 10th edition of the women’s tournament and is due to be hosted by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), delivered in partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC). It will be the first time the event has returned to England & Wales since the inaugural tournament in 2009 – which England women won on home soil.
Joining the team behind the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 is a chance to be part of a landmark moment in sporting history. This is your opportunity to collaborate with passionate individuals, support and deliver an exceptional sporting experience for players and fans, and leave a lasting impact on the future of women’s cricket.
Reporting to the Tournament Director, the Strategy Implementation Lead, will be at the heart of making the vision for the tournament a reality, ensuring that all objectives are delivered, measured, and celebrated.

The ECB welcomes applications from all backgrounds to ensure we deliver our Inspiring Generations strategy and fulfil our purpose to connect communities and improve lives through cricket.

YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF
You have a passion for growing and driving progress in women’s sport and are inspired by the opportunity to help deliver one of the most significant women’s sporting events ever hosted in the UK.
You love turning bold strategic ambitions into structured, measurable, and achievable delivery plans.
You're at your best working with diverse teams, translating big-picture thinking into detailed action.
You’re calm under pressure, motivated by deadlines, and excited to help shape a once-in-a-generation event to effect long-term change in cricket.
YOU'LL BE DOING
Driving the implementation of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 strategy – ensuring that the vision, mission and objectives for the event are translated into delivery plans across all tournament functions.
Acting as the key link between the tournament leadership team, workstream leads, and functional areas (e.g. venue operations, marketing, communications, digital, participation, city activations etc.).
Working closely with the programme management team to develop and manage the tournament’s delivery frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and governance structure, ensuring clarity, consistency, and coordination.
Monitoring and reporting progress against key workstreams and tournament KPIs, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimisation or realignment.
Supporting budget oversight and financial accountability across workstreams, working closely with the finance team and tournament leadership team to track expenditure, flag variances, and ensure resources are allocated in line with strategic priorities.
Supporting the Tournament Director with meeting planning and preparation across forums and stakeholders.
Proactively identifying opportunities to drive even greater impact and success across the tournament – whether through innovations, partnerships, or operational efficiencies.
Leading on the development and delivery of the tournament impact framework and post-event review, to help ensure the tournament leaves a positive and lasting impact for women’s cricket.
YOU'LL HAVE
Experience (5+ years) in strategy execution, programme management, or operations delivery, ideally within sport, major events, or complex cross-sector programmes.
Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder environments, with strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
A track record of translating strategy into delivery, creating implementation plans, coordinating teams, and driving accountability.
Familiarity with governance frameworks, project management tools, and structured reporting.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to inform decisions, track performance, and surface challenges early.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills: a natural facilitator and confident presenter, able to adapt your communication style for different audiences.
A proactive, calm, and solutions-focused mindset with an ability to anticipate challenges and keep things moving.
A genuine passion for sport, gender equality, and delivering events that make real life impact.
