Job Description
To lead delivery of the internal communications strategy and plan, managing all internal communications and engagement activities to maximise employee engagement and ensure a good communications experience for all colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
Implementing the internal communications strategy and plan agreed with the ELT following the strategic review
Creating a compelling internal story for the organisation, its journey, strategy, and priorities that engages and aligns our people
Creating and encouraging a rhythm of face to face communication, ensuring regular opportunities for the front line and leadership to connect
Ensuring that leaders understand their accountability for communications and engagement and provide them with the support they need to deliver
Developing a framework that enables Comic Relief to draw from staff expertise to feed into media response and other comms groups
Delivering a set of high-quality communications channels including regular written and face to face contact that bring the business strategy and priorities to life, make it easy for people to access the information they need, give employees a voice and encourage feedback and debate
Ensuring that our people have a consistent, involving experience when it comes to communication of change
Applying an agreed tone of voice to all communications
Working with the Comic Collective to drive engagement activities and contribute to making Comic Relief a great place to work
Essential Education and Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience of managing internal communications for at least one other organisation (or division of a major company) with a track record of delivery
Professional qualification from the Institute of Internal Communications (desirable)
Demonstrable interest in company culture building, diversity and inclusion and workplace trends
