Job Description
This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.
Purpose of Role
As the Producer at Comic Relief, you will turn creative ideas into reality, ensuring projects progress quickly, efficiently, and within budget. While your input may vary on a project, you will bring a layer of magic and efficiency to the teams you support. With your skills as a storyteller and organiser, you will essentially ‘make it happen’ in a variety of places and spaces. You will respond to briefs from across the organisation, ideating, developing, and executing ideas that resonate with our audiences and meet campaign objectives. While ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, you will bring fresh, out-of-the-box ideas for managing and delivering content efficiently. Whether it’s a photoshoot, design project, social video, digital content, video game, podcast, event, or factual content, you will help the team transform core ideas into impactful outputs by driving the project forwards.
Key responsibilities:
Lead multiple concurrent projects to ensure overall quality of work and guarantee projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Proactively identify ways to add value to the team through economical solutions and savvy production management.
Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and oversee a range of outputs including photography, broadcast, print, social, digital, events, activations, and other specialty projects from ideation through to delivery.
Serve as the communication hub for larger campaign projects, coordinating between key stakeholders involved in an assigned project.
Manage your own projects and collaborate across various specialist teams to drive projects forward, integrating various content outputs into a seamless workflow.
Develop, implement, and manage project scoping, planning/scheduling of internal and external resources, estimating, and building project timelines.
Provide clear and accurate communication regarding team member tasks and deliverables as well as providing regular updates to senior stakeholders.
When required, coordinate and manage the entire production process (from research, creative ideation and development, to producing shoots, post production oversight and delivery), working with key stakeholders to ensure alignment. This includes producing schedules, budgets and facilitating key meetings to drive the project forward.
When required, set up and manage production shoots to capture content, directing talent and contributors, as well as briefing internal teams and freelance crew.
Work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to drive Comic Relief’s year-round storytelling strategy, supporting with new ideas for content generation as required.
Maintain systems and processes for generating and sharing ideas including crafting creative treatments and pitch documents to sell-in ideas as required.
Collaborate closely with production management colleagues to ensure all productions adhere to organisational best practices, including safeguarding, obtaining consent, and complying with health and safety, risk management, and legal considerations.
Adhere to production management operational processes to ensure all resources and productions are utilised and executed efficiently.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the organsation to integrate DEIB principles into all aspects of our creative work.
Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and expertise in your specialism area.
Essential Criteria:
Extensive experience managing simultaneous projects in a fast-paced agency, marketing, or creative services environment.
Proven track record in scoping complex campaigns, ensuring the creation of accurate resource plans, project schedules, and estimates. Clear understanding of what is and isn’t included in the delivery and risk mitigation plans.
Strong understanding of planning/strategy, creative, and design processes. Ability to effectively converse on all areas, from static social posts to TV spots, OOH to printed posters, and everything in between.
An eye for detail - always ensuring an excellent standard of delivery.
Active listener and problem-solver with the ability to build trust with peers quickly.
A ‘can-do / go-getter’ attitude with an ability to make things happen. Be the glue and go-to person for delivery solutions with the ability to see the bigger picture and confidently challenge ways of working.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and work styles.
Champions creativity, not just output-driven, encouraging great ideas whilst creating efficient processes to create more opportunities.
Desirable Criteria:
Media understanding - can comprehend the implications of different channels, formats, and technologies.
Experience managing or producing content in the non-profit sector
