Job Description

HDR UK is seeking to appoint an experienced and hands-on Project Manager to deliver the UK component of a European-wide initiative that will increase the usability of health relevant data assets and to work across other data related projects as required.

In partnership with the European Health Data Evidence Network (EHDEN) and the UK Health Data Research Alliance, we are working with UK data partners who have been successful in securing funding to transform data into the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model.  This standardized structure and content of observational data will enable efficient analyses that can produce reliable evidence. The projects awarded will have a duration of 12 months.

HDR UK requires an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a portfolio of grant awarded projects, its integration with other initiatives to increase implementation and use of OMOP, and the growth of a UK-wide network aligned with international initiatives.

 Purpose of this post:

Reporting to the Head of Alliance Strategy & Engagement at HDR UK, this pivotal role will work with EHDEN, UK Data Partners, and other relevant partners. The role will be key to supporting, and drawing on expertise of, organisations across the health data research sector in the UK to further our recommendations on data standards to unite the UK’s data to enable discoveries that improve people’s lives.

The EHDEN data partner projects will commence in January 2023 and complete by March 2024 and will need a skilled and collaborative Project Manager to ensure maximum benefit is derived from the investment.  The post holder will have a central role in working across the data research ecosystem to enable shared knowledge and learning on best practice in data transformation and engaging custodians, researchers and healthcare professionals in improving the way data is used.  In addition to leading on contract management, partner liaison and monitoring of delivery throughout this period, the role holder will bring effective project management tools and skills to support knowledge sharing, community building and integration with related developments within the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will share HDR UK’s values, have strong collaboration skills, excellent communications skills, be comfortable with supporting multiple projects at pace in a complex organisation and demonstrate a clear willingness and passion to support organisations within the EHDEN partnership and beyond. The post holder will also have the ability to convene communities of experts to gain insights on data standards, methods and tools to improve research and innovation at scale.
