eve Sleep, who?

Where do we start? Well, we’ve been on one heck of a journey. From our early days with just 1 glorious mattress-in-a-box to our name to now offering 6 sublimely comfy (and, ahem, award-winning) mattresses and a whole host of top-notch sleep goodies, we’ve come a long way since 2015. And we couldn’t do it without our team of cracking individuals who make the magic happen every single day.

Not only that, but they’re the driving force behind our mission to champion sleep wellness. ‘What’s that?’ we hear you cry. Well, we think everyone deserves to feel outrageously well slept. So much so that they wake up dancing every single day. And we want to help them get there.

the opportunity

We are looking for a Data Engineer on a Permanent Contract to join our Digital Product & Tech team of 10 reporting to our Head of Technology.

At eve we are looking to make a step-change in our use of data and analytics. Data already underpins everything we do, and it’s time to add insights & make relevant data more accessible to internal teams.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of the team working on our data platform architecture. You’ll work with internal teams, including the web, marketing & customer experience teams, to collect the right data that it’s always available.

the day to day stuff:-

• Managing our data metrics collection using event tracking tools (e.g. GTM/Snowplow).

• Working alongside our ETL providers maintaining connectors (e.g. FiveTran)

• Collaborating with our data team to build custom data models & dashboards from Snowplow and other data sources.

• Understanding and educating internal teams to determine new data/events need to be captured to answer the business's burning questions.

• Contribute to working with others to foresee limitations of current architecture when scaling systems infrastructure with business growth objectives and developing a long-term plan for upgrades and evolutions.

• Manage relationships with third parties and any integrations with other business systems.

• Work with agile practices, including scrum.

what we’ll love about you: - 

• Experience working with cloud-based data-warehouse, e.g. BigQuery/Redshift

• Familiar working with custom event tagging in Snowplow/Google Tag Manager data platforms.

• Experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools like Fivetran.

• Familiar with data visualisation tools like PowerBI.

• A love of numbers, and always into the detail.

• An analytical thinker who finds the solutions to problems.

• Experience working with GIT source control.

• Excellent data & programming languages (Javascript, SQL, Python)

• Ownership, ability to deliver projects from end-to-end.

• Translates technical concepts to non-technical people.

• A natural at building relationships along with strong communication skills with people at all levels.

• You’re a pro at using your initiative, have a can-do attitude and always want to learn and grow.

• As a self-starter, you have a contagious spirit to help us build the best brand we can. You’ll also be highly collaborative and welcome working closely with the rest of the business.
