Job Description
Introduction to the role
A fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in publishing and gain marketing skills across all channels. You’ll work on a range of leading resources for primary and secondary schools, supporting the marketing team to create impactful campaigns that cut through and meet revenue, evaluation and dues targets and work closely with the sales team help us grow our presence in UK schools.
Key tasks and accountabilities
Support the sales team by running reports, organising stock and marketing materials, booking events and any other ad-hoc admin tasks as required
Preparing all administrative aspects of inductions for new reps, including sourcing all IT equipment and car stock, organising travel and accommodation and arranging training sessions with Publishers and Marketing as relevant
Providing key reports and analysis for the sales & marketing team, including analysing and circulating the weekly sales team feedback, running data mining reports for key campaigns and areas of interest as requested and keeping the current offers list up to date
Capturing, recording and analysing sales data to accurately measure and report on sales and user figures, utilising Microsoft Excel tools such as pivot tables, charts and graphs, and lookup functions
Take responsibility for booking and managing sales conferences and meetings for internal sales, marketing and editorial teams managing all administrative aspects from sourcing venues to co-ordinating the collation and delivery of sales materials to ensure smooth running and successful events
Logistical and administrative support for external events, working with the marketing team, to include booking venues, organising delivery of materials, designing exhibition materials, manning exhibition stands, liaising with sales to communicate and follow up leads and opportunities. Further event responsibilities include organising any resources needed for rep events (such as LA days or events in schools) and arranging in-house events for key partners (such as Little Wandle and White Rose).
General and personal administrative support to the Sales Managers, Schools Marketing Director and the UK Sales & Marketing Director. You will be the main in-house contact for the sales team, troubleshooting and liaising across departments to resolve any issues and queries promptly and effectively, especially any IT issues and product queries
Support the marketing team with administrative tasks including mail outs, ordering up office and events stock, maintaining book displays and organising internal storage
Ensure marketing materials are organised and manage internal systems so we know what stock is available from each location. Regularly clear out out-of-date material in conjunction with campaign managers
Email comms – write copy for and create email updates for the sales team and for primary and secondary campaigns as directed by the campaign managers
Create assets for social media as directed by campaign managers including graphics and video
Proof-read and update marketing collateral as directed by campaign managers
Raise POs for events and other marketing costs using internal systems
Experience required
A passion for publishing and marketing
Experience of using social media in a personal or professional capacity
Experience of design systems preferable – e.g. Canva/Photoshop/Adobe
Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise workload and juggle tasks
Able to use initiative to develop new ideas and solve problems
A proactive and can-do attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
A team player with excellent communication and people skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to quickly get up to speed with new digital marketing tools
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to work with databases and run complex reports
