Job Description

Background:

We are looking for expressions of interest for a Batting Coach to cover the Young Lions programme during Winter 2021-22. This post will begin on Wednesday 27 October until Friday 11 February 2022. The practitioner will form part of the wider Young Lions Coaching Team.

 The successful person will show a genuine desire to want to work with adolescent cricketers and have the necessary personal attributes when working with this age group.

We expect the overall commitment to be not more than 65 days. The current programme dates during this period are:

•         Young Lions Training Camp at the ECB Performance Centre in Loughborough, 28-30 Oct

•         Young Lions Training Camp at the ECB Performance Centre in Loughborough, 12-14 Nov

•         ODI Series vs Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, 21 Nov – 12 Dec

•         ICC U19 World Cup in the Caribbean, Approximate dates 2 Jan – 6 Feb

There will be the need to communicate well with County Practitioners and flexibility for preparation and follow up outside of these blocks as required.

YOU'LL BE DOING:

•         Coaching Young Lions players, ensuring that they are prepared for the demands of international age-group cricket.

•         In collaboration with counties, aiding the development and management of Young Lions players.

•         Assume coaching roles and responsibilities during the England U19 camps and series and contribute to the wider England U19 Coaching Team.

•         Contribute to the off-field activities throughout the England U19 camps and series, including assisting with safeguarding responsibilities.

 

YOU'LL HAVE

Essential

•         Level Three Coach

•         Experience of working with elite adolescent cricketers

•         Experience of, or willingness to work in an integrated management team

•         Growth-mindset

•         Excellent communicator

 

Desirable

•         Level Four Coach

•         International coaching or playing experience
