Job Description

We are looking for four aspiring journalists with a passion for men’s and women’s cricket to make the most of an opportunity to learn from experienced reporters and experts in the field during The Hundred this summer.

You will have the opportunity to for write match reports and quotes-led stories, attend Masterclass sessions and get feedback from experts on your work to help you develop your existing skills and potentially learn new ones!

We're looking for people who have a passion and hunger to grow their career in journalism and are already currently at university or studying in a related field.

You will get support from the ECB and our broadcast partners to equip you with the skills and opportunities that will support you in taking the next step in your career.

Applicants will have to attend one of two designated matches - London Spirit v Manchester Originals (Lord's - Friday, 9 August) or Northern Superchargers v London Spirit (Headingley - Tuesday, 13 August).

As part of the application process you will be required to submit a match report which will need to be within a 250 word limit as well as answer some other questions which will give us the opportunity to learn about your experience, skills and your passion.

Please note: You will also be asked to submit a copy of your CV but this will not be shared with the panel as part of the initial anonymous review of the applications.

For information purposes and planning, please see the timeline we are proposing for the process:

  • Deadline for applications - 6th June 2024

  • Applications will be reviewed between – 7th June - 10th June 2024

  • Candidates will be updated on application during the w/c 10th June 2024

  • Offers will be made on circa 17th/18th June 2024

  • Successful candidates will be invited to a Hundred Rising Welcome Day on 26th June 2024 at the ECB offices at Lords Cricket Ground.
