Job Description

This position supports the Facilities and Logistics Manager in providing an excellent working environment for, and ensuring the health and safety and well-being of, employees, contractors, guests, visitors and general public within Comic Relief’s offices.

Key responsibilities:

Facilities and Logistics

  • Logistical support including movement of equipment and materials (and, where necessary, staff/visitors) to / from remote locations and provision of equipment for emote working.

  • General office management (including Facilities Helpdesk, acting as first port of call for Facilities enquiries from staff).

  • Process new starters and leavers on our systems

  • Manage locker distribution

  • Check workstation assessment and provide staff with the necessary equipment

  • Providing cover for reception when required

  • Manage contractors, contracts and suppliers as directed to ensure service delivery.

  • Taking receipt of deliveries and organising couriers when required

  • Retrieving and returning items from and to storage as required

  • Liaise with service providers and contractors to ensure regular activities are undertaken e.g. recycling, courier services.

  • Support with events and productions as required

 Health and Safety

  • Carry out building & meeting room checks on a daily basis, ensuring any issues are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.

  • Checking compliance with desk booking system and COVID protocols

  • Internal track and trace if a staff member tests positive for COVID

  • Support Facilities and Logistics manager as required with general health and safety duties including risk assessments, contractor monitoring and other statutory and not statutory site requirements.

Essential criteria

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language well.

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an office environment

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a varied and demanding workload.

  • Well organized, dedicated, reliable, and flexible

  • Quick learner, able to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable criteria

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience of facilities or logistics work

  • Health and Safety qualification
