Programme Lead - Production
Responsible to: Head of Curriculum Delivery
Team: Education
Term: Permanent
Location: Remote (with some occasional in-person UK meetings)
Hours: 36 hours per week (if full-time – flexible arrangements will be considered. Our core working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, to allow effective collaboration time with colleagues).
Line management responsibility: 4 direct reports (Project Manager, Rights and Permissions Manager, 2 x Quality Managers)
Budget responsibility: Yes
Key external relationships: Production suppliers, Curriculum Partners
DBS: An enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage a high-performing production team, whose work includes quality assurance, third-party content rights, video production, illustrations and digital asset management
Manage production cost lines within a 7 figure budget
Lead on production scheduling, working with your team to establish priorities, identify risks and mitigation plans in collaboration with stakeholders, and develop and maintain production milestones
Manage the resourcing of our production pipeline, ensuring workflows support high-volume production of curriculum resources (18 subjects, ~15,000 fully resourced lessons) and continuously improve related processes
Manage relationships with suppliers who support our production work (e.g. illustrators, video editors)
As a member of the Oak Team, contribute to the wider success of the organisation and support and role model our culture of freedom, responsibility, and continuous improvement

Work in cross-functional and product-oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required
Deputise for the Head of Curriculum Delivery and take on other general responsibilities as required
Knowledge, skills, and experience
Experience in recruiting, developing and managing a high-performing team
Experience managing a significant budget
Proven success in driving excellent production and delivery practices including leading continuous improvements in quality, cost reduction, production time and pipeline capacity
Experience in managing production schedules, working with stakeholders to ensure that resources are ready for publication on time and within budget
Experience in managing supplier relationships, ensuring good communication, overseeing and reviewing the quality of work, and facilitating issue resolution
The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.
