Job Description
Introduction to the role:
HarperCollins is looking for a new Audio Editorial Assistant to support the Audio Publishing Director in delivering our best-in-class audiobook publishing programme, which covers everything from thrillers to personal development titles, fantasy to celebrity memoir, romance to health and fitness.
This is a fun and varied role working across a range of commercial fiction and non-fiction, delivering on our Total Audio commitment (we are proud to release an audiobook edition of every narrative print book we publish, on the same publication date as the title’s other formats).
We are looking for someone with outstanding attention to detail, first-rate administrative and organisational skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach to work. The successful candidate will work closely with in-house colleagues and external partners to make sure our recordings run smoothly and projects are produced to the highest quality, on time and to budget.
This is a great opportunity for a keen listener of spoken word content, and a big reader, to work with a friendly, supportive and award-winning team in the fastest-growing area of the publishing industry.
Please note that this is not a hands-on studio production role.
Key tasks and accountabilities:
Support the Audio Publishing Director with the administrative and organisational tasks required to deliver our best-in-class audio programme across allotted publishing divisions
Liaise closely and build good relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including studios, agents, actors, other publishers and distributors
Assist in all aspects of studio bookings, including arranging transport, etc., ensuring that deadlines are being met
Maintain accurate in-house systems, trackers and records
Manage the audiobook briefing process with divisional colleagues
Create and share agendas, schedules and reports as needed
Share draft and final scripts with actors and studios
Create marketing assets for divisional colleagues
Use initiative and improve our processes wherever possible
Assist as needed with deliveries to distributors
Experience required:
Your love of audio is only rivalled by your love of books – and with the latter, you’re a big fan of commercial fiction and non-fiction
Solid administrative experience or knowledge
Skills required:
Excellent administration and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
A proactive and collaborative team player
Meticulous eye for detail
Clear, confident communication skills
Able to manage personal and team deadlines effectively
Excellent standard of written and spoken English

Ability to use own initiative as well as taking clear direction to follow protocol and standards
Benefits:
