Job Description

Our Sales Operations team are looking for a Senior Sales Operations Executive or Sales Operations Manager to manage physical inventory and the smooth running of all stock related functions. Working closely with the Collins Learning team you will optimise stock levels across a wide range of Education and Reference titles to support the commercial success of these divisions. This is a busy position and you must have previous publishing or inventory management experience, excellent data analysis skills and a meticulous eye for detail. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock availability across frontlist and backlist titles through regular stock and sales analysis and liaising with sales teams

  • Suggest appropriate reprint quantities and create reprint meeting agendas, taking into account stock turn, lead times and margins

  • Chair reprint meetings and ensure decisions are followed through

  • Act as a key link between various areas of the business, primarily Distribution, Production and Home and Export sales

  • Manage creation of packs, both internally in our warehouse and externally through Production and their suppliers

  • Analyse excess stock reports and run regular excess stock meetings. Liaise with Finance, Sales and Editorial to take appropriate action when excess stock is identified

  • Deal with queries business wide regarding stock availability

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline decision making and minimise out of stocks

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a publishing or stock management role – preferably within an education environment

  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to create and run reports, analyse data and communicate findings and opportunities

  • High level of commercial awareness

  • Proficient in Excel, comfortable with using formulas

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop close working relationships with relevant stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail

  • Ability to learn new processes and systems

  • A self-confident individual who works well under pressure and is able to prioritise tasks
