Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multi-award-winning marketing team at HQ. We are looking for a creative marketer with experience working in a busy campaigns team to devise campaigns for our bold, brave and inclusive fiction and non-fiction.

As Marketing Executive you will be responsible for planning and implementing your own integrated and innovative marketing campaigns as well as supporting members of the team working on our biggest brands across the HQ, HQ Digital and Pavilion lists, including bestselling and high profile authors such as BOSH!, Adele Parks and June Sarpong.

Key tasks and accountabilities

  •   You will be working on your own campaigns across commercial fiction and non-fiction – from planning and briefing through to delivery and analysis – as well as providing support to other team members on some of our biggest brand author campaigns

  •   You’ll work closely with the Campaigns and Content Manager to implement activity for the HQ social channels including content creation and implementation

  • You will manage some key external relationships and represent the team both externally and within the wider business

During your first six months in the role you will have:

  • Planned and executed a number of high-impact campaigns, within budget and to deadline

  • Created and briefed design across a wide range of media

  •   Developed capability across Wordpress, Photoshop and InDesign as well as scheduling and content management systems

  • Created and optimised social media advertising campaigns

  • Built strong relationships with members of the HQ marketing team, wider divisional colleagues, authors, agents and other external stakeholders

  • Identified and developed new and existing third party partnerships to amplify campaign activity

  • Kept abreast of emerging digital trends and fed back to wider team on innovation ideas

Experience required

  • Experience in a trade publisher marketing, campaigns or communications department

  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively

  • Someone who demonstrates the ability to plan, develop and implement high impact, fully integrated campaigns and is adept in social media content creation

  • Copywriting proficiency across all areas of the marketing mix

  • An excellent communicator able to build relationships quickly and effectively

  • Someone who enjoys reading widely across commercial fiction and non-fiction
