Job Description

PURPOSE

This role will be responsible for the preparation and performance of the England National Disability teams, within the Disability Cricket strategy. The ultimate aim of making cricket more accessible for people with disabilities and delivering winning England Teams.  Delivery of end-to-end high quality performance management support to England Disability squads in order to optimise performance, specifically during training camps and an overseas series in Australia (2nd to 18th June 2022) and proactive preparation for future series and tournaments. This role is initially a fixed term role until the end of 2022 with the potential to be converted into a permanent role.

YOU’LL BE DOING

·       Preparation and support for  2022 Tour in Australia and ongoing support for future tours

o   Leading the Performance element of the Disability Cricket Pathway across three impairment groups.

§  Blind

§  Deaf

§  Learning Disability

o   Managing the National Squad Head Coaches and ensuring that they have the support needed to maximise the potential of their teams and that they utilise the support available to them

o   Supporting the Recruitment of coaches and managers

o   Ensuring players meet the relevant eligibility criteria

·         Preparation of National Squads for international competitions for 2023 onwards across four impairment groups.

o   Blind

o   Physical Disability

o   Learning Disability

·         Contribute to delivering Inspiring Generations by developing inspirational teams and people that inspire a new generation of disabled players to have lifelong involvement within our game and to play, watch and love our game. 

•         Working with the Science and Medicine Lead for the Disability Cricket Program to ensure an appropriate support structure to help our players make informed decisions to live a performance lifestyle and ensuring that our organisation meets its duty of care to our players

•         Working closely with the competitions & recreational game managers ensuring competition and player pathways are aligned achieving a fully integrated player pathway for disabled players to achieve their full potential.

•         Ensuring the ECB and its delivery partners are compliant with the Equality Act and that our business continues to be legally compliant.

•         Being a champion for Inclusion and Diversity

YOU’LL HAVE

·         Experience of working in high performance disability/paralympic environments

·         Ability to work autonomously

·         Experience of working with athletes with impairments (Desirable)

·         A successful record in high performance planning and monitoring, and contributing to and implementing strategic plans.

·         Substantial  experience (or part-time equivalent) in line-managing staff/coaches, and a record of successfully setting and managing budgets.

·         A strong network of cricket contacts in the UK and abroad

·         Excellent communication skills

·         A good understanding of Disability Sport and the workings around it.

·         Strong leadership and influencing skills.

·         The capacity to learn and adapt.

·         Outstanding Presentation & Communication skills.

·         Experience and the ability to manage budgets.
