Job Description

PURPOSE

It’s an incredibly exciting time to join cricket, and this Senior Event Production Manager role offers the opportunity to play a leading role within the Events Team, delivering some of the sport’s most high-profile events across England and Wales. The role will lead event production planning and delivery for The Hundred, helping to create a world-class experience for players, media, partners, and fans across all venues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional planning and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build trusted relationships, lead projects, solve complex operational challenges, and manage individuals within the team. Working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, they will drive collaboration across venues and teams to ensure consistently high standards of operational delivery.

YOU’LL BE DOING

Event Planning and Delivery

  • Ensure every touchpoint of the fan journey delivers an engaging, memorable, and world-class experience.

  • Lead and line manage multiple operational roles within the Event Production team.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of event production elements for The Hundred, contributing operational expertise to the wider tournament strategy.

  • Drive continuous improvement to ensure the tournament delivers a lasting impact for fans, players, and stakeholders.

  • Develop and oversee project plans with the event presentation agency, ensuring key milestones are achieved and information is effectively communicated across all functional areas.

  • Oversee the delivery of commercial, digital, and team activations within the match-day experience.

  • Work closely with broadcast managers to ensure event presentation is seamlessly integrated into the live broadcast.

  • Attend venue visits and operational planning meetings to ensure consistently high standards of event presentation across all host venues. This role requires flexibility, including long hours and weekend working.

Management – Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with the wider Event production team at ECB, The Hundred team cos, and event suppliers to strengthen the connection between teams, players, and fans through innovative match-day experiences.

  • Develop and deliver operational plans covering venue overlay, logistics, and match-day delivery, ensuring alignment with tournament objectives.

  • Act as the operational contact between the ECB, teams, and the event presentation agency, ensuring all project objectives are achieved.

  • Lead coordination between centrally contracted suppliers and the event presentation agency, ensuring venues and stakeholders receive accurate and timely information.

  • Work collaboratively with departments across the ECB and The Hundred to maximise both the in-stadium and broadcast fan experience, while enhancing the player experience.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teams, venues, suppliers, and service providers to ensure exceptional event delivery.

  • Act as the primary day-to-day operational contact for key stakeholders and delivery partners associated with The Hundred.

  • Develop strong relationships with tournament leadership, host venues, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to drive successful tournament delivery.

  • Support the management and monitoring of operational budgets, ensuring effective financial control and value for money.

  • Work with the Finance team to support forecasting, reporting, reconciliation, and agency budget management.

  • Support supplier procurement and contract management, ensuring services are delivered to agreed standards and contractual requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, venue requirements, council approvals, and operational procedures.

  • Support the management of operational incidents relating to event production and overlay, coordinating effective responses where required.

  • Lead post-event reviews within Event Production, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and embedding lessons learned.

  • Produce comprehensive operational reports, capturing successes, challenges, and recommendations

 

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Excellent people skills, to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including, Suppliers, Broadcasters, commercial partners, and ECB teams.

  • A creative and innovative mindset

  • Extensive experience in ‘live’ match day presentation delivery of sporting events.

  • Experience of event delivery in a live broadcast environment.

  • Clear and effective decision-making skills.

  • Proven experience of tight budget management and report writing skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and mediation skills, with the ability to manage high pressure situations.

  • An understanding of the game of cricket and its rules.
