Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP implementation initiative. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the JD Edwards project lifecycle, from initial planning through successful deployment and post-implementation support. You will leverage ERP-specific expertise to ensure our organization maximizes the value of this robust ERP solution while minimizing disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan with clear milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements aligned with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne implementation best practices
Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of JD Edwards implementation, including requirements gathering, system design, module configuration, testing, data migration, training, and go-live
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, identifying and mitigating risks proactively while adhering to JD Edwards implementation methodologies
Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders at all levels, including HarperCollins colleagues in the USA, providing regular status updates and escalating issues appropriately
Coordinate with Oracle JD Edwards consultants, third-party vendors, and internal and external IT teams to ensure alignment and integration across the technology ecosystem
Facilitate business process reengineering discussions to optimize workflows within JD Edwards modules (Financial Management, Supply Chain, etc.)
Develop change management strategies to ensure smooth organizational adoption of JD Edwards processes and interfaces
Create and maintain project documentation, including JD Edwards-specific requirements, test plans, training materials, and standard operating procedures
Monitor project KPIs and deliver regular progress reports to executive leadership
Oversee JD Edwards module configuration decisions to ensure they align with business requirements
Manage the JD Edwards technical environment strategy across development, testing, and production instances
Coordinate JD Edwards security role design and implementation
Oversee customization, extension, and integration requirements for JD Edwards, ensuring they follow best practices
Required skills:
Extensive experience of managing complex IT implementation projects, with at least 2 ERP implementations successfully completed
Preferred: Significant experience specifically with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne implementations
Strong understanding of business processes across multiple functions (Finance, HR, Supply Chain, etc.)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne architecture (or other equivalent ERP system), including module configuration, customization approaches, and integration capabilities
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies
Preferred Skills:
Industry-specific knowledge relevant to our business
Experience with data migration and integration between legacy systems
Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools
Understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud deployment models
Experience with process mapping and business process reengineering

The ideal candidate will balance technical JD Edwards knowledge with strong business acumen, driving the project forward while ensuring the implemented solution meets organizational objectives and delivers expected ROI. You will serve as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating requirements into effective JD Edwards configurations while managing expectations throughout the implementation journey.
