Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Domestic Cricket Operations team as a Regulation Executive. This role will provide critical support to all domestic cricket competitions, and also to the recreational game in the field of migrant cricketers. The role is an opportunity to establish effective and positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, in order to provide them with a second-to-none service that allows them to perform and operate at their maximum ability.

The Domestic Cricket Operations team is involved with all aspects of cricket that are pitch side of the boundary rope; from eligibility of players, appointment of umpires, fixture scheduling to rules and regulations and pitch and ground facilities and technology. All this as it relates to in excess of 700 matches per season.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • The overall purpose of this role is to deliver core match operational responsibilities to ensure the smooth and effective running of the Professional and Recreational games. Specifically: 

  • High volume processing of applications for Governing Body Endorsements in the Recreational Game with regards to migrant players/coaches and to provide support to Cricket Clubs.

  • To assist with the annual Home Office Recreational Game audit.

  • To be primary point of contact for player registration/ draft queries and maintain the registration database with respect to the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA).

  • To assist other members of the Domestic Cricket Operations team with pre-season and in-season work as required.

     

YOU’LL HAVE

  • A willingness to learn and understand Home Office immigration policy.

  • An understanding of Recreational Club structure.

  • An ability to understand cricket regulations and its application.

  • Experience of working in a high-pressure environment, often dealing with and responding to demanding clients or stakeholders outside of normal working hours.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex policy and regulations to different levels of the game.

  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Good computer literacy and experience of operating databases.

  • A keen eye for detail.

  • Good time management

  • A team player approach, be resourceful and possess the ability to demonstrate initiative; still seeking advice or support when required.

  • A proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humour; understanding the ever-changing events environment which may include some unsociable hours.
