Our scouting network is designed to capture a wide range of evidence from multiple sources to drive evidence based decision making.

Our Young Lions scouts play a critical role in identifying, monitoring, reporting and recommending players of potential for Young Lions Regional & National squads. An England and Lions scout will independently observe and provide insight into players' current readiness and future potential.

  • Have experience identifying players of potential

  • Have a good understanding of the Talent Development process

  • Be an excellent communicator

  • Be able to attend games and report on a significant volume of cricketers

Key Duties:

  • Responsible for formally scouting short and long listed players.

  • Complete reports on players scouted within 48 hours of observation

  • Recommend players to Player Identification Lead, Young Lions Independent Selectors and the Young Lions Head Coach

  • Provide insight into the allocated players at all scout meetings (usually at ECB Performance Centre, Loughborough)

  • Attend scout development days

  • Complete video reports on allocated players
