Job Description

We are looking for a Senior / Commercial Data Analyst to join our Growth and Analytics (G&A) team, playing a critical role in the definition and implementation of best revenue growth strategies in the ever-changing e-book and audio industry in the Australian and New Zealand markets, a market covered by the UK team.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a highly-demanding Big Data environment and to become a key player in the fast-paced growth of the function, by contributing in the Growth & Analytics strategy, including analyses, cross-functional alignment and providing with added value in the process automation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their expertise whilst learning more about technology, marketing, and strategy in an innovative and dynamic environment amongst big players such as Amazon, Google and Apple.

Main Accountabilities

  • Become the face for the Analytics team in Australia, leading our processes and strategies for the market.

  • Apply successful strategies and growth projects implemented by the team in the UK market to the AU/NZ territories, developing with the role to lead these key initiatives for the business.

  • Maintain and improve the analytics and pricing strategy for the digital markets, including pricing best practices, processes, tools, reports and documentation.

  • Support ad-hoc analysis in the ANZ market based on country needs. Communicate findings to relevant, high-level stakeholders (including the CEO and Senior Vice Presidents), thus becoming a key source of analytical and strategic knowledge for the whole business.

  • Lead strategic projects to implement revenue growth strategies for the company.

  • Proactive market intelligence to understand main factors driving commercial performance for all company digital products (e-books & audio-books), retailers (Amazon, Apple, Google...) and markets.

  • Engage with the Australian teams based in Sydney, including Development, Digital Operations, and global sales teams.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of competitors’ business models and tactics, as well as best practices and process automations.

  • Drive and motivate collaboration and cross-functional alignment between a wide range of functions and stakeholders to unleash the potential of Big Data analytics across the company.

Experience required

  • Knowledge of Excel (vlookup, if statements)

  • Appropriately documenting project work for future reference or review.

  • Experience working with data for analysis, presenting projects, insights and/or strategies

  • VBA, SQL and/or Power BI knowledge is advantageous but not essential to the role

Skills

  • Highly analytical skills with a strongly strategic and data-driven mindset

  • Great attention to detail; organised and accurate approach to work; meticulous and thorough

  • Creative, innovative thinker with outstanding problem-solving skills.
