Job Description

PURPOSE

Do you want to ensure cricket is a safe place to play?  This role will be responsible for overseeing two key programmes focused on delivering family friendly clubs. Your goal will be to ensure that cricket clubs provide fun and safe places for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game.

Clubs and leagues play a crucial role in the experience and enjoyment of thousands of cricketers, of all ages, across England and Wales.  With around 5,000 clubs across England and Wales you will work closely with the Clubs Executive, to provide the tools and support required, to ensure clubs ‘inspire generations to say cricket is a game for me’.

Key to this role in 2022 will be delivering the Clubmark programme and continuing the roll out of the Safe Hands Management System. In this role you will have the opportunity to shape and protect the future of our club cricket family and ensure clubs have the right systems in place to protect all of those who enjoy the game.

YOU’LL BE DOING

 

·       You will oversee and enhance the tools, policies and resources that support a sustainable and safe club network.

·       Oversee and manage the role out of the Safe Hands Management System.

·       Promote a fun and safe environment for all children playing cricket

·       Implement inclusion strategies for clubs to ensure welcoming environments for all players

·       Create a responsive online support system that has practical solutions and resources to enhance policy adoption and implementation.

·       Simplify administrative processes and reduce response times

·       Design, develop and manage training and support for a regional and county network of club development staff

·       Work closely with workforce and club support officers to provide an excellent volunteer support programme

YOU’LL HAVE

 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand and act on information accordingly.

  • A keen eye for detail and a desire to see things through to completion.

  • The ability to influence various partners from club officials to senior executives.

  • Outstanding project management skills and a proven track record of delivering results.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to ensure partners and stakeholders remain on task and work to the agreed deadlines.

·       Experience in writing, creating and implementing new programmes.

·       The ability to create training packages for various stakeholders ranging from county board staff, to club volunteers, to successful promote scale in the role out of new programmes.

  • A deep understanding of the cricket network and challenges the game faces across different areas of England and Wales.

  • A contagious passion for cricket or recreational sport and a strong desire to add real value to the counties in your region.
