Job Description
We are looking for a Contracts Assistant who is keen to launch a career in publishing as part of a friendly, dynamic team. The successful candidate will have exposure to many aspects of the industry as well as working closely with colleagues in the Legal and Contracts department. This role is entry level with plenty of scope to progress.
Core responsibilities
Drafting contracts - (for example for acquisition and licensing of rights).
Draft confidentiality agreements, standard competition terms & conditions.
Review most Contract Request Forms as they are submitted to the department.
Support team by entering contract information into royalties’ database.
Manage permissions requests with the Contracts team.
Undertake special projects and other duties as decided by the Contracts Manager.
Experience required
Must have some experience of working in an office environment
Skills required
Good knowledge of MS programmes including Word, Excel and Outlook
A good team player who is capable of working on their own initiative;
Computer literate with a good eye for detail;
A confident and effective communicator in written and verbal media;
Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure;
Highly organised and able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads;
Accustomed to working towards deadlines.
