Job Description
Space Partnership Analyst
Role Purpose:
The Satellite Applications Catapult (the Catapult) is recruiting an Analyst to join the Space Partnership team. The Space Partnership brings industry, academia and government together to agree shared priorities and identify collective action to deliver the ambition in the National Space Strategy. The Space Partnership is a small team working across the UK space sector to bring the wealth of knowledge and expertise available to produce insights and information for the Space Partnership Board. This exciting role will enable you to gain a fundamental understanding of the UK space sector and how each stakeholder group works together to inform the future direction for the sector including policy makers. This role is Harwell based and you will be expected to be in the Harwell office at least two days per week, with some travel across the UK for face-to-face meetings and events.
Ways of Working:
The role reports into the Space Partnership Director, but you will also be part of the National Space Capabilities and Clusters (NCC) Team within Satellite Applications Catapult, which is taking the lead on creating a thriving and collaborative UK Space Ecosystem. As part of the Catapult, you will be part of a learning organisation where our ways of working are underpinned by coaching and feedback, fostering adult to adult conversations. Key responsibilities:
• The Space Partnership Analyst will work closely with the Space Partnership Director and team to draw information and insights from representatives from across the UK space sector and present them in an engaging and informative way. This will involve a wide range of different activities from designing workshops to summarising the data gathered into carefully designed graphics. The varied role will include:
• Drawing data from a range of sources: You will be responsible for identifying the data required and exploring the best way to collate it. This will involve desk research, commissioning external research and designing data gathering elements of workshops that provide real-time snapshots of attendees’ views.
• Presenting information and insights gathered: You will be responsible for designing easy to engage with infographics that accurately summarise complex information. This will involve managing data, utilising advanced Excel skills and tools such as Power.BI, and working with graphic designers to develop dashboards that can be cross-checked, easily updated and regularly maintained.
• Maintaining accurate reporting metrics: You will be responsible for accurately collating a range of engagement metrics and reporting them to the Space Partnership Board on a quarterly basis. This includes monitoring and cleansing data on a regular basis.
• As part of a small team, daily tasks will vary to support the needs of the Space Partnership which makes for a challenging role where adaptability on a weekly basis is necessary. It requires an individual that has demonstrable analytical skills using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Advanced data analysis skills based on Microsoft Excel (essential)
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail (essential)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills tailoring your approach according to audience needs (essential)
• Able to deliver a range of different tasks on varying timescales, efficiently prioritise workload (essential)
• Experience of building intuitive dashboards to summarise information (desirable)
• Knowledge of the Space Sector (desirable)

• The purpose of the Space Partnership team is to bring together industry, academia and Government to deliver on the ambition laid out in the National Space Strategy.
• The Space Partnership is accountable to the Space Partnership Board.
• The Space Partnership will draw on expert knowledge and insight from across the whole space ecosystem and work collaboratively to support a range of activities that require a whole-of-sector approach.
