Job Description

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work within a high performing Science and Medicine environment to provide excellent Physiotherapy support to England Women’s Pathway players.

This exciting role will be working within a team to ensure England Women’s Academy players are fully supported on their journey to becoming elite cricketers.

 YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Delivering high quality physiotherapy and rehabilitation support to England Academy players in collaboration with their Elite Regional Team.

  • Working with the England Women’s Academy MDT, and other relevant stakeholders, to contribute to and deliver player development plans. 

  • Providing physiotherapy support for winter and summer camps. Please note winter camps involve predominantly weekend cover.

  • Providing physiotherapy support for winter and summer tours, in conjunction with touring Doctors. The touring commitments will vary each year and in some cases tour cover may involve covering England Women’s Senior Team tours. As a principle, staff will be encouraged to, on occasions, cross cover each other for the purposes of gaining experience working across other aspects of the pathway and to manage time spent overseas.

  • Collaborating with the England Women’s Clinical Lead, England Women’s Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach and other MDT members, to ensure injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes are designed and delivered as effectively as possible.

  • To play an active role in wellbeing meetings to shape the delivery of any strategies that are place to support players in the environment.

  • Supporting the Head of England Women’s Science and Medicine in adopting a collaborative network with the Women’s Elite Domestic Structure ensuring effective communication of injury information for players moving between environments.

  • Working within the England Women’s Science and Medicine team to contribute and deliver projects, CPD events and activities that will develop our domestic system and promote excellence in Science and Medicine practice within cricket.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)

  • Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, preferably a Post-Graduate degree

  • At least 6 years’ experience working as a Physiotherapist in a full time capacity

  • Extensive experience of working with developing female athletes

  • Previous experience delivering high quality support working on an elite cricket pathway

  • Significant experience and success in co-managing athletes with multiple stakeholders

  • Current Advanced Trauma Management and Emergency Care accreditation

  • High standards of personal and professional integrity

  • High levels of enthusiasm and resilience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
