Job Description

Our Production Team are looking for a Production Assistant to work on the production of books for our Fiction division. It is a great opportunity for someone wanting to enter the world of book production in a forward-thinking and innovative company. This is a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Costing Reprints in our Purchasing System and checking accuracy before circulation

  • Placing backlist Fiction & HQ reprint titles according to the schedule required and ensuring bound stock dates are met

  • Process Print on Demand for both Fiction and HQ

  • Production of all book proofs for the Avon and Fiction Divisions

  • Assist the Production Manager(s) and other members of the team according to workload and departmental needs

  • Help with the upkeep of admin within the team

  • Ensure all titles are archived on our Digital Asset Management System, including PDF files, application files and images maintaining strict version control

Experience and Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills, oral and written

  • Good computer skills, Word, Excel, Data bases

  • Good numeric and organisational skills

  • Being both diligent and accurate

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Coping well under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Team worker
