Job Description

Purpose

This is an exciting role in the ECB Business Operations Team, delivering strategic projects across cricket and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the ECB. Requiring a generalist skill set, the successful candidate will have exposure to senior leaders and be working on some of the most impactful and fast-paced work at the ECB. This would be a brilliant role for a high-performing all-rounder, regardless of prior experience in sport or not.

YOU’LL BE DOING 

Business Operations and Strategy  

Lead and support on business-critical projects alongside other members of the Business Operations team. This could include: 

  • creating strategic plans for new or growing areas of the ECB

  • providing strategy expertise to cross-ECB projects,  

  • carrying out forward-looking research to guide how the ECB responds to future challenges

  • Lead on regular cadence of departmental KPI reporting and centralised project management reporting, ensuring the ECB successful achieves its key priorities

CEO Office

Provide day-to-day support to the Head of CEO Operations to help the CEO with the smooth running of the ECB, all while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders from across the ECB and beyond. This could include: 

  • preparing CEO briefings and speeches

  • leading key projects

  • planning events for the CEO

  • Be a core part of the team who plan and deliver the ECB’s Hospitality at England matches during the season

  • Provide any other reasonable support as required by CEO Office

ECB Governance  

  • Coordinate the smooth running of the ECB Board, including working with Head of CEO Operations to plan and prepare Board meeting agendas and supporting ongoing governance development through projects such as NED performance reviews, succession planning etc.  

  • Ensure the smooth running of the ECB’s governance by collaborating with colleagues from across the ECB to ensure joined up and high-quality administration of the ECB Board’s various Sub-Committees. 

 

YOU’LL HAVE 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with an ability to work with senior colleagues across an organisation

  • Experience working as a strategy manager or leading and managing strategic projects 

  • Excellent communication skills and business writing abilities

  • A diligent and organised way of working

  • An ability to work to and reliably deliver against tight deadlines

  • An open mind and ability to think creatively to support on a diverse range of tasks

  • A strategic approach to solving problems and ability to think “big picture” about opportunities and risks

  • Self-awareness and ability to adapt to and thrive in a wide range of work situations

  • A commitment to learning and personal development to improve both technical knowledge and leadership capabilities
