Job Description
Introduction to the role
The Marketing Assistant will provide campaign and administrative support to help the marketing team deliver measurable campaigns in line with the divisional strategy. They will also create social media campaigns for authors across the list as well as manage some of the social and online channels within the division.
Core responsibilities
Support the marketing department on delivery of all campaign collateral so that all activities are on time and within budget.
Provide general administrative support for the department including booking meeting rooms, coordinating proof schedules, raising purchase orders and tracking spend and helping out with minute taking in relevant meetings.
Creating key retailer presentations, helping with digital administration, assisting on key author presentations.
Liaison with key stakeholders within the division, Design, Production, Publicity, Sales and Editorial, to ensure effective communication and support at all times.
Working closely with other members of the marketing team, manage elements of author campaigns where relevant.
Creating creative social campaign plans for authors across the list.
Input on content creation for the HQ Blog and Newsletter.
Support a culture of collaboration, working closely with the wider marketing team to ensure that all communication is effective, timely and in line with the critical path.
Experience required
A passion for commercial fiction and non fiction – from hot new thrillers to book club picks, cookery to memoir and lifestyle publishing.
Experience of managing, developing or creating a social and online presence, even if it is your own.
Any publishing or marketing experience would be a bonus, whether that’s work experience, experience as a bookseller or as part of a publishing society.
Skills required
HQ are looking for a can-do, positive person with a wealth of enthusiasm for book marketing. A team player with excellent communication and people skills who can be innovative and creative. A digital native or someone who embeds digital into all they do is very important as is passion for our industry. This role will benefit if the successful candidate is helpful and flexible in their working style with a strong eye for detail and fantastic organisation skills.
